Use the Spelling Window

You can use the Spelling window when you require more options for the spelling checker. On the text that you entered, right-click the word underlined in red, and then select Spell Check Dialog. The Spelling window appears. Correct each spelling error by doing one of the following: To use one of the suggested words, select the word under Suggestions, and select Change. To update all occurrences of the word throughout the text, select Change All. To change the word yourself, edit the word directly in the field or under Misspelled word, and select Change. To add the word to your user dictionary so that the spell checker stops marking it as misspelled, select Add to Dictionary. To ignore the word and move to the next spelling error word, select Ignore Once. To ignore all instances of the flagged word and move to the next word, select Ignore All. Spell Check

Add words to a Dictionary

You can prevent spell checker from marking certain words as misspelled by adding them to the dictionary. On the text that you entered, right-click the word underlined in red, and then select Add to Dictionary. The word is added to the dictionary and the red underline is removed. Configure the Spell Check

You can configure general settings for the spelling checker. Access NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the main menu, select Tools, and then select Preferences. The Preferences window appears. Under Spell Check, select Spell Check Options. The Spell Check Options window appears. On the General tab, under Correction Criteria, either clear or select any of the following correction criteria: Ignore words in UPPERCASE. Ignore words that contain numbers. Ignore Internet addresses. Ignore Email addresses. Flag repeated words. Ignore uppercase and lowercase. Under Dictionaries in Use, select the dictionaries that you want to include. Select OK.
