You can add or remove words from the user dictionary. Access NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the main menu, select Tools, and then select Preferences. The Preferences window appears. Under Spell Check, select Spell Check Options. The Spell Check Options window appears. Select the User Dictionary tab. Under Edit User Dictionary, perform any one of the following: To add a word to the user dictionary, enter the word and select Add Word. Before you begin Ensure that the dictionary file that you want to import is accessible on your local computer or network. When you import a dictionary file, you can either merge it with your dictionary or replace your existing dictionary. Access NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the main menu, select Tools, and then select Preferences. The Preferences window appears. Under Spell Check, select Spell Check Options. The Spell Check Options window appears. Select the User Dictionary tab. Under User Dictionary Import/Export, do one of the following: Select Merge with your existing user dictionary, to merge the imported dictionary with your existing user dictionary,. You can export a dictionary as a TX Spell Dictionary (*.txd) file. This file can be shared with other users. Access NextGen® Enterprise. From the main menu, select Tools, and then select Preferences. The Preferences window appears. Under Spell Check, select Spell Check Options. The Spell Check Options window appears. Select the User Dictionary tab. Under User Dictionary Import/Export, select Export User Dictionary. The Save As window appears. Enter a file name for the dictionary. Select Save. The spelling checker compares the words that you entered against the main dictionary. The main dictionary contains most common words, but it might not include certain proper names, technical terms, acronyms, or specialized capitalization. You can add words and special capitalization to a custom dictionary to prevent the spelling checker from marking them as errors. You can use the Spelling window when you require more options for the spelling checker. On the text that you entered, right-click the word underlined in red, and then select Spell Check Dialog. The Spelling window appears. Correct each spelling error by doing one of the following: To use one of the suggested words, select the word under Suggestions, and select Change. To update all occurrences of the word throughout the text, select Change All. To change the word yourself, edit the word directly in the field or under Misspelled word, and select Change. To add the word to your user dictionary so that the spell checker stops marking it as misspelled, select Add to Dictionary. To ignore the word and move to the next spelling error word, select Ignore Once. To ignore all instances of the flagged word and move to the next word, select Ignore All. You can correct potential spelling errors as you enter the text. Potential spelling errors are underlined in red. On the text that you entered, right-click the word underlined in red. A list of recommended words appear on the menu. Select the correct spelling. Note: When you select the correct word, ensure that the total number of characters, including the corrected word, conforms to the character limit of the field you are using.
