Log On

Use the Mirth® Connect Login window to authenticate yourself and log on to the Administrator. When you open the Administrator view, the following window appears: Image of the login window The Server field is pre-filled with the correct IP address and port, however, you can change the address, if needed. Note: If this is the first time you are logging on to Mirth® Connect, the default username is admin and the default password is admin. Enter your username and password in the fields. Select Login. Note: If Require Login Notification and Consent (Settings > Server) is set to Yes, a window appears displaying the notification text. Select Accept to continue. Download the Administrator Launcher

You must download the Administrator Launcher to use it to open the Administrator. Open a web browser and navigate to your launch page. This is usually http://localhost:8080 or https://localhost:8443, though you may need to edit the IP or port depending on your settings. Select the cog icon next to the Download Administrator Launcher button. Choose the operating system for your local machine that you want to install the Administrator Launcher on. Select Download Administrator Launcher to download the installer file. Note: While installing the Administrator Launcher on macOS, you might encounter warnings such as the following: These warnings are displayed by Gatekeeper, a macOS security feature designed to ensure that only trusted software runs on your Mac. It appears when an application hasn’t been notarized by Apple, which is common for software distributed outside the Mac App Store. Mirth® Connect Administrator Overview

The Mirth® Connect Administrator is used to develop and manage all channels and can be run anywhere in relation to the Mirth® Connect server. The Mirth® Connect Administrator consists of menus and view panels that change depending on the task (for example, Dashboard, Channel, Edit Channel, Settings). Note: You no longer need to use Java Web Start. NextGen Healthcare has released a new Administrator Launcher that you can use instead. See Administrator Launcher Overview. The Web Dashboard

The Web Dashboard is a quick and easy way to view channel / connector statistics across your server without needing to launch the Administrator. It runs in a web browser, and is also supported on mobile devices. To login to the Web Dashboard: In the address field of your browser, type localhost: followed by the Web Start Port number. (See the Server Manager - Server page; default: 8080. ) Select the Access Secure Site button for Web Dashboard Sign in, the page changes, prompting you to enter a Username and Password. Unable to Launch Mirth® Connect Administrator

The login window indicates if there is any issue: Login window with error displayed. If you do not have connectivity from your local machine to the Mirth® Connect server over the HTTPS port (default 8443), you will see the following: Warning: There was an error connecting to the server at specified address. Please verify that the server is up and running. Make sure the URL you are using is correct, and verify whether you have network connectivity to the server. Verify that the Mirth® Connect server is actually running. If you installed as a service, you can view the current status from the Server Manager. Parent topic: Troubleshooting

Administrator Launcher Overview

The Administrator Launcher is a replacement for Java Web Start, and can be used to launch the Administrator on your local desktop regardless of which version of Mirth® Connect you are using or which version of Java it is running. The Administrator is the graphical user interface (GUI) that is used to log into a Mirth® Connect server and create/modify/deploy channels. In previous versions this was launched on your local desktop with Java Web Start. However in Java 11 and later, Java Web Start was completely removed from Java. The Administrator Launcher is a replacement for Java Web Start, and can be used to launch the Administrator on your local desktop regardless of which version of Mirth® Connect you are using or which version of Java it is running on.
