Process Sliding Fee Batch Adjustments Operation

The Process Sliding Fee Batch Adjustments Operations subgroup in the System Administrator application enables users to process sliding fee adjustments. When this right is set to Yes, the Sliding Fee Batch Adjustment menu option displays under the File > Processes menu. Apply Sliding Fee Adjustments using the Batch Process

You can process Sliding Fee Batch Adjustment in NextGen® Enterprise PM. To filter and select specific encounters, you can use the following fields: Date or Date Range Patient Type Service Location Rendering Physician Financial Class Primary Payer To apply sliding fee adjustments to multiple encounters in batch mode, do the following: Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select File > Processes > Sliding Fee Batch Adjustments. The Sliding Fee Batch Adjustment window opens. Enter the Search Criteria fields, and then select the encounters. Select Find. Encounters matching the search criteria display in the Encounter List grid. To apply a sliding fee adjustment to the selected encounters, select Batch Adjust. Search Criteria in Sliding Fee Batch Adjustment Window You can use Search Criteria in Sliding Fee Batch Adjustment window to search the desired encounters while appying sliding fee adjustments for batch encounters. Practice Preferences for Sliding Fees

The table describes the preferences that you can set to control the sliding fee schedules and adjustments in your practice. Field Description Disable sliding fee adjustments for encounters that have insurance attached Select this option to turn off users' ability to perform a demand sliding fee adjustment for encounters that have a remaining patient balance after insurance is paid. Note: This option affects only the encounter-based sliding fee schedules. Disable sliding fee adjustments for encounters that have a zero balance Select this checkbox to turn off sliding fee adjustments for encounters that have a balance of $0.00. Allow family size and income re-verification override Select this option to allow users to override the re-verification of family information before applying sliding fee adjustments in cases where the service date is past the re-verification date in the patient's family information. Set Up Sliding Fee Preferences for Cost Estimation

You must complete the following sliding fee practice preferences before the cost estimation. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, open Admin > Preferences > Practice. The Practice Preferences window opens. In Preference List, select Sliding Fee. The sliding fee practice preferences appears. Select If amount due is less than minimum value or flat rate, do not slide. Note: Selecting this option prevents positive sliding fee adjustments that increase the amount due up to the defined minimum value or flat rate. This occurs in cases where the balance is less than the minimum value/flat rate. To enable real time sliding during charge posting, select Real- Time Adjustments from the Sliding Fee Adjustment Type list. Select OK. Parent topic: Sliding Fee in Cost Estimation
