Preference	Description
Medications Fax	Enables auditing within the application of all faxed medications by creating an entry in the prescription_audit table. When this preference is set to True, you can run a Crystal Report that can document when medications were faxed.
Medications Print	Enables auditing within the application of all printed medications by creating an entry in the prescription_audit table. When this preference is set to True, you can run a Crystal Report that can document when medications were printed.

The following table describes the Reports Universal Preferences. You can also set these preferences at the user level. Preference Description Alternate Report Path In compliance with the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT) requirements, this preference sets the path in which Crystal Reports stored in the alternate directory are not accessible via File > Crystal Reports Main Menu option. Custom Report Path Sets up the path for storing custom reports. NextGen® Optical Management Report Path Sets up the path for storing NextGen® Optical Management reports. Patient Report Path Sets up the path for storing patient reports. Report DSN Sets up the path for storing DSN reports. Report Path Sets up the path for storing reports. Prescription Drug Monitoring Program Universal Preferences

Use the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program Preferences to configure the system to automatically generate PDMP reports. For more information about PDMP reports, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest ePrescribing User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR . The following lists the Drug Monitoring Program Universal Preferences. Preference Description Initiate automatic PDMP upon New Encounter Select True to configure the system to automatically generate PDMP reports when a user creates a new encounter. The default value is False. Initiate automatic PDMP upon opening med module Select True to configure the system to automatically generate PDMP reports when a user opens the Medications module. The default value is False. PDMP API URL Enter the URL of the PDMP Gateway, supplied by Appriss Health, used to generate the reports. Note: If the preferences are set to False, users with the appropriate security rights can still generate PDMP reports manually. Parent topic:

Medication Universal Preferences

The Medication Universal Preferences control various elements in the Medications module and the Medication Allergies module in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Preference Description Allergy Interaction Level Display Default Sets the default display levels for allergy interactions for all users in the system. Allergy Interaction Level Display Minimum Sets the minimum allowed display level that a user is able to set in the User Preferences in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. The following display levels are available: 3 - All significant and cross sensitivity allergy alerts 2 - All significant allergy interactions 1 - Most significant allergy interactions 0 - Disable allergy alerts Setting the minimum display level determines the level of allergic interactions displayed. For example, setting the preference to display Level 2 displays both Level 1 and Level 2 alerts whereas setting the value to Level 3 displays Level 1, 2, and 3 alerts. How to use System Administrator to configure preferences that are not specific to a particular practice. To access and set up Universal Preferences: Select View > Universal Preferences. The Preferences window appears. Select the preferences folder you want to configure The window displays the available preferences. In the Preference list, double-click the preference you want to set up. A window displays for the selected preference. Enter the desired value for the preference, and then select OK. There are three types of preferences: Preference Type Description Boolean Select True to enable the preference or select False to disable it. Path Enter the path that applies to the preference. You can enter the path or select the Ellipsis button to navigate for the path. Free Text Enter the alphanumeric value to use for the preference. Note: Some Universal Preferences may include FTP (File Transfer Protocol) settings. Set up FTP settings only if your practice is using FTP to store information.
