Workflow Universal Preferences
The following lists all the Workflow Universal Preferences.

Email DSN | Sets up the Data Source Name used for storage if Replication is selected. |
Use FTP |
Determines if FTP is used to store image files. If your practice uses FTP to store information, set theUse FTPvalue toTrue, and then set the following usage specifications: FTP Server– Use if data is stored on an FTP server instead of a regular server. FTP User Id– Enter the user ID used to access the FTP server. FTP Password– Enter the password used to access the FTP server. If you are not using FTP, set theUse FTPvalue toFalseand disregard the remaining FTP-related Universal Preferences. |
Generate Read Receipt | Set the preference to True to automatically generate a read receipt for the selected user when sending Patient Portal messages from either NextGen® Enterprise EHR or NextGen® Enterprise PM. Users can override this setting in the Properties section of a Patient portal Message window |
Minimum Refresh Rate For Tasking | Limits the minimum refresh value that can be set in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In , users cannot set the refresh value lesser than the value set in Universal Preferences. If the value set in Universal Preferences is >99, then the minimum value that can be set in NextGen® Enterprise EHR is 99. The value can be set as high as 999. Any numerical value is accepted. |
Patient Email Host Path | Sets up the path for the storage of saved e-mails on a remote host through FTP. |
Patient Email Path | Sets the network path used to store saved e-mails. |
Task List by Enterprise/Practice | When set to True (the default setting), this preference enables the user to see only his or her tasks created in the current practice (instead of seeing tasks across multiple practices). To Do tasks are practice-specific. |
Task Recipients by Practice | When set to True, the users only in the current practice display in the All Users folder of the Select Task Recipients window in the Workflow Module. You can also set this preference at the user level. |
Use Patient Portal |
Set this preference toTrueto allow users to access and work withNextGen® PxP Portal. To restrict access to NextGen Patient Portal, set this preference toTrueat the universal level andFalseat the user level for each user who should not have access to it. You can also set this preference at the user level. |
