Operational Security Items in the General Group

The General group under the OPERATION rights in the System Administrator application provides access rights of the security items for the Security Group in the NextGen® Enterprise PM.

The following lists the security items in the System Administrator application for the Security Group.

Security ItemDescription
Account Lookup Existing Accounts OnlyEnables the Existing Accounts Only check box on the Account Lookup window. This retrieves both the persons and patients who have account profiles in the Account Lookup window.
Archived ERA File LookupEnables users to select the 835 ERA File option as search criteria in the File Archive Search window from the Tasks > Lookup > Files menu.
Bad Debt ProcessEnables users to access the Bad Debt option from the File > Processes menu so they can process bad debt encounters from the prelisted encounters, for collections.
Change PracticeEnables users to change from one practice to another practice that they have rights to without having to log out.
CheckinEnables users to check in (time-stamp) a patient upon arrival for an appointment and group appointment. The time stamp is used for tracking appointment duration from check-in to check-out.
CheckoutEnables users to access the Autoflow Checkout process when a patient leaves from an appointment.

Enables users to access the group checkout process without Autoflow when a patient leaves from a group appointment.

Client DefinedNot an active option! This option is used for custom programming.
Demographic Client DefinedEnables users to add values "on the fly" to the Religion and Church client defined fields on the Patient Information window and Person Information window. These values are also added to the related master lists in File Maintenance.

This right does not control user ability to modify the client-defined fields in the Enterprise Preferences.

Outsource ChargesEnables users to outsource outstanding charges to a third party for collections. The charges are put in an Outsource status.
Override Process Date UpdateEnables users to access the Override Process Date option from the File > Processes menu to set a minimum process date for backdating charges and transaction batches.
Practice Closing ProcessEnables users to access the Practice Closing option from the File > Processes menu to run the manual end of day process. (This operation does not apply if Auto Closing is activated in the General Practice Preferences).
Reset Outsourced ChargesEnables users to use the Reset button on the Outsource Process window to reinstate charges from an Outsource status after they had been previously sent to a third party for collections.
Unmask SSNEnables users to view the patient's entire SSN (Social Security Number) instead of viewing only the last four numbers.
