Medications Operations Security Rights

The following security rights control aspects of Medications and ePrescribing.

Allow Access to Manage ePANextGen® Enterprise EHREnables users to manage electronic prior authorization (ePA) messages that come from the Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM), including answering questions sent by the PBM. Allow Pharmacy DownloadNextGen® Enterprise EHREnables users to download pharmacies in NextGen® Enterprise. This security right does not control user ability to download pharmacies in File Maintenance.
eRxNextGen® Enterprise EHREnables users to approve and deny refills. This security right works in combination with the Medication permission (under MODULES > Medical Records).

If the eRx permission and the Medication permission > Add access right are both enabled, approvals and denials can be applied.

If the eRx permission is enabled but the Medication permission > Add access right is disabled, a denial can be applied but an approval cannot.

If the eRx permission is disabled, the Medication permission is irrelevant and no refill response action can be applied.

Initiate ePANextGen® Enterprise EHREnables users to use the Initiate ePA link in the Medication module > medication details to send a request for prior authorization. Interaction Display LevelNextGen® Enterprise EHREnables users to set the levels of DUR Interactions that they want displayed. If this permission is set to No, the Interaction Level Display Default from the Medication Universal Preferences is used.
PDMP RequestNextGen® Enterprise EHREnables users to request Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) request for the patient in the medication module.
PDMP ViewNextGen® Enterprise EHREnables users to view report from the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) for the patient in the medication module
Print PrescriptionNextGen® Enterprise EHREnables users to print patient prescriptions from the Medications module.
Problem RequiredNextGen® Enterprise EHRRequires users to enter a diagnosis code in order to save a prescription to the patient's chart.
SIG RequiredNextGen® Enterprise EHRRequires users to enter a SIG code in order to save a prescription to the patient's chart.
Stop Date RequiredNextGen® Enterprise EHRRequires users to enter a medication stop date in order to save a prescription to the patient's chart.
