Introduction
The SSL Manager extension lets you quickly enable/configure certificate-based Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connectivity for socket-based connectors such as the HTTP Listener/Sender, Web Service Listener/Sender, TCP Listener/Sender, DICOM Listener/Sender, Email Reader / SMTP Sender, and File Reader/Writer (in FTP mode). The central settings view allows you to manage and store your certificates in one location. Trusted certificates and advanced SSL settings such as client (two-way) authentication and host name verification can be applied on a per-connector basis.

What's the difference between SSL and TLS?
The terms SSL and TLS are typically used interchangeably. Technically speaking, TLS (Transport Layer Security) is the current proper name, and SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is the name of an older version of the protocol. However, since "SSL" is the most widely known and used term, that is what this user guide usually refers to.
