SSL Manager User Guide

Introduction

The SSL Manager extension lets you quickly enable/configure certificate-based Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connectivity for socket-based connectors such as the HTTP Listener/Sender, Web Service Listener/Sender, TCP Listener/Sender, DICOM Listener/Sender, Email Reader / SMTP Sender, and File Reader/Writer (in FTP mode). The central settings view allows you to manage and store your certificates in one location. Trusted certificates and advanced SSL settings such as client (two-way) authentication and host name verification can be applied on a per-connector basis. FTPS Connectors

File Transfer Protocol with SSL (FTPS) connectors are configured on an Edit Channel - Source / Destination page. For File Readers / File Writers using the SSL Manager in FTP mode: Besides the regular SSL settings, the Implicit FTPS option is available. When you enable Implicit FTPS, the connector immediately initiates a secure SSL connection; otherwise, an unsecured connection is established first, which is then upgraded to a secure connection (for example, via the AUTH command). Apply Destination Connector SSL Settings

On the Channels page, double-click a channel in the Channel list. Select the Destinations tab. In the Connector Type field, select the connector type that supports the SSL Manager (HTTP Sender, Web Service Sender, File Writer in FTP mode). In the SSL Settings section, the SSL Manager is inactive. If you populate the URL field in the HTTP Sender Settings section, the field turns yellow with a Lock icon next to the URL. If you move the pointer over the Lock icon, a tool tip appears that explains the reason for the situation. (Selecting the Lock icon opens a window with the same content as the tool tip.)
