Before you begin
You must ensure that the server does not have other NextGen applications (such as Terminal or Citrix® Server) installed.
Note: NextGen Healthcare recommends the following:
- To avoid system reboot during installation, install .NET Framework 4.6.2 or later before installing or upgrading NextGen Service Manager Console or services.
- If you have already installed NextGen Remote Host Service and the Microsoft .NET Framework version 4.5.1 or later, you must uninstall the current NextGen Remote Host Service version before installing the new version. You can check the current version of Microsoft.NET Framework in the list of installed programs in the Control Panel.
You can install NextGen Remote Host Service on each server that is managed by NextGen Service Manager Console. When you install NextGen Remote Host Service, the server becomes a NextGen-managed server.
- Open Service Manager Installer, and download the latest NextGen Remote Host Installation package.
- Open RemoteHostInstall.msi.
Note: If the installation wizard does not detect the required version, it prompts you to install it.
The NextGen Remote Host setup wizard opens. The NextGen Remote Host setup wizard first checks if the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 or later is installed on the computer.
- Select Next until the NextGen Remote Host has been successfully installed message appears.
Note: NextGen Healthcare recommends you to install the service in the default folder.
- Select Close.
