Before you begin
Ensure that you have the following installed on your server.
- Service Manager Console.
- .NET Framework version 4.8.
Important: Ensure that the ngconfig.ini file is present on the machine where NextGen Patient Portal CCD Service is installed and the database details in the ngconfig.ini file are pointing to the same database for the CCD Service installed.

- Open NextGen Service Manager, and then select Install.
The
Component Selector window opens.
- Select NextGen Patient Portal CCD Service, and then select Install.
The NextGen Patient Portal CCD Service Installer opens.
- Select Next.
The Database Setup window opens.
- To connect to the primary database, select Select Database.
The Database Connection window opens.
- In the Database Connection window, enter the details.
- For Server, make a selection from list or enter the server name. Do not enter the IP Address.
- Enter the username and password for Database Connection.
- Select the relevant database.
- Select Test Connection.
A confirmation message appears stating that the connection test is successful.
- Select OK to close the message.
- Select OK to return to the Database Setup window.
- Select Next.
The
NextGen Patient Portal CCD Service Servers window opens.
- Select an available server, and then select Add.
The added server moves to the Selected Servers list.
- Select Next.
- In the NextGen Patient Portal CCD Service Configuration window, do the following:
- Select the application version to be installed.
Note: You can select Release Notes to view the changes between the versions.
- To restore the practice level XML to a previous version using a backup, select Restore Practice level XML and browse to the backup location.
Note: Restore Practice level XML is available only for NextGen Service Manager Console 6.1.0.5 and later versions.
The default backup location is
C:\NextGen\PracticeConfigurationBackup. The backup location is displayed in the CCD Service configuration file
NextGen.Pxp.CcdaService.exe.config.
- Select Next.
The
Configure Component Service Account window opens.
- To configure Component Service Account, select Configure service to run under Local System Account or Configure service to run under User Account. You can provide the user credentials.
NextGen Healthcare recommends that you run the service using the user's credentials with minimal privileges.
- Select Next.
The installation process starts and the wizard prompts you to review your selection before continuing.
When the installation is completed, the Finished window opens.
- Select Finish, and close the NextGen Component Installer window.
NextGen Service Manager Console updates the configuration.
