Add an Ordering Diagnosis

You can add additional diagnoses using the Common Assessments pages. Note: If your practice is licensed for Problem Intelligent Medical Objects (IMO) functionality, select the Problem (IT) PLUS IMO button under the grid to open IMO to add assessments. The IMO button is initially set up in the Practice Configuration practice template. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Configuration Guide for NextGen® Therapy Suite. Select the Add button below the Ordering Diagnosis grid. The Inf Common Assessment window opens. To select the applicable diagnosis codes page, select the Common Assessments field. The Inf Common Assess Dbpl window opens. Configure the Ordering Diagnosis by Visit Set

You can configure a visit set so that the following information is required before the therapist can submit charges: Users must select the Reviewed checkbox to indicate a review of the ordering diagnosis. Users must add an ordering diagnosis. When you make these required, the user cannot submit billing until they fulfill the configuration requirements. In the NTS Practice Config template, go to the Diagnosis section. Select the Visit Set you want to configure. Under Review Ordering Dx, select one of the following: Required. The therapist cannot submit charges until they mark the Reviewed checkbox. After the therapist selects the checkbox, it remains checked until a new ordering diagnosis is entered. Not Required. Hidden. The Reviewed checkbox does not appear on templates. Under Ordering Dx, select Required or Not Required to set whether an ordering diagnosis must be added before charges can be submitted. Order Therapies in the Therapy Order Template

You can place orders for various therapies for a patient and generate the order requisition. Open the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Therapy Order. The Therapy Order template opens. Note: The Date field displays the current date. You can update the date if needed. To add the diagnoses and procedures, select Dx & Px. Note: Selecting procedures is optional; however, you must select at least one diagnosis to order therapies. After you place the order, the documented diagnoses and procedures appear in the grid as follows: If you add more than four diagnoses, the first four diagnoses appear in the Diagnosis column, and the remaining appear in the Summary column. Select an Ordering Diagnosis as a Treating Diagnosis

When a patient comes to you for therapy, they may have one or more ordering diagnoses already added. Based on your assessment, you determine the treating diagnoses to support the patient’s need for therapy. You can select from the existing ordering diagnoses or select additional ones that better reflect the specific diagnoses related to therapy treatment. Expand the Assessment panel. Ordering Dx lists the diagnoses that were added on the NTS Homepage template. Under Ordering Dx, review the ordering diagnoses to determine which ones should be included as treating diagnoses. Select an ordering diagnosis, and then select the right arrow to move it to the Treating Dx list. Treating Dx displays the diagnosis. The diagnosis remains visible in the Ordering Dx list. Second Evaluation N/A Checkbox

If a second evaluation is completed within the same case, a N/A checkbox appears over the Treating Dx grid. The system requires that you enter a new treating diagnosis on an Eval visit type. However, if a new diagnosis does not apply to the patient scenario, you can select the N/A checkbox to be able to submit charges. Configure Preferences for Copying Data from Previous Encounters

You can configure the preferences to copy the historical physical exams, review of systems, reasons for visit, and assessments from any previous encounters to the current encounter. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Practice Configuration template. Optional: In the Copy Previous Visit Information section, update the default duration of the historical information. Copy Previous Visit Information Section To copy the historical physical exams, review of systems, reasons for visit, or assessments, select the respective checkbox. Note: If you clear a checkbox, you can only view the historical information from previous encounters. To display a label on the templates or documents, indicating that the information is copied from previous encounters, select the respective checkbox. Select Save and Close.
