Configure a Billing Provider Other Than the Rendering Provider

When a provider submits charges on a patient whose financial category or Payer are found in this grid, the Billing provider changes from the Rendering provider to the Provider specified in the grid. Select the fields below the grid, choose the Financial Category and Payer Name that require the billing provider override. (Use * to enter a default for all payers within that category). If necessary, select the Location Name field, and then select the locations in your practice that this configure needs to apply to. Choose the Billing Provider that the encounters should be billed under. CAUTION: If you are specifying a billing provider other than the rendering provider, and you want any documents to go to the specified physician’s PAQ (internally) for sign off, be sure to set that up on the NTS Document Config template also (see Document PAQ Settings). Use the Billing Provider Override & Facility Billing panel to specify if the Billing Provider must be someone other than the Rendering provider. This is necessary for Medicaid patients in some states where therapists, if working in the same organization as a medical group, are required to bill under the Ordering Physician and not the therapist. Configure a Financial Category for Facility Billing

Configuring a Financial Category or Payer to follow facility billing does not affect the workflow for the therapist does not change. The difference is how encounters display and bill in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select the field under Financial Category, and then select the financial category from the picklist. Select the field under Payer Name. The Ainf Config View Payer Class picklist opens. If all the payers in that category require facility billing, select the *, otherwise, choose a payer, and then select OK. Mark the Facility Billing checkbox. Select Add/Update. The BH Billing Panel
