Document Medical Necessity
Select Clinical Impressions. The Medicare Clinical Impressions template opens. Medicare Clinical Impressions template The top three checkboxes provide leading sentences for the documentation. Selecting No changes satisfies documentation if there has been no change in the medical necessity for treatment since the patient’s last visit. Note: To fill in the Medicare Clinical Impressions template, you can use Get Data to pull information from a prior visit. See Use Get Data Select all checkboxes that apply. Select Save & Close. Your selections in the Medicare Clinical Impressions template are converted to prose in the Medical Necessity field. Medical Necessity
The Medical Necessity field can be configured to be hidden, visible (not required), or required on Eval and Progress visit types for those financial classes/payers designated in the configuration in the System Config system template. Past History
You can enter Past History information by selecting any of the links in the left navigation for Function, Nutrition, Pediatric, Lymph/Oncology, Cognition, and Fluency. Past History grid When you have opened any Past History template, you can use the left navigation to jump to another template. Note: To fill in these templates more efficiently, you can use Get Data to pull information from prior visits, or QuickPicks to enter saved favorites. See Use Get Data and QuickPicks for more information. After you have entered all information on a template, select Save & Close. All information is stored in the Past History grid. Procedures or Results
The Procedures/Results section grid displays any procedures and results that have been documented for the patient on procedure templates. Procedures/Results grid To document procedures and results, select a template in the left navigation to open it. Note: You can configure the left side navigation to show only templates that are used by your practice or the provider and display them in the order most useful to you. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Configuration Guide for NextGen® Therapy Suite. All Procedures/Results templates also have functionality for Use Get Data and QuickPicks and you can fill out as many different templates as needed for that patient. Work Conditioning Template
The Work Conditioning template is for Workman’s Compensation patients billing the codes 97545 and 97546. To document on the Work Conditioning template, you can use Get Data to pull information from prior visits, or QuickPicks to enter saved favorites. See Use Get Data and QuickPicks. Grid-Edit Mode
Use Grid-Edit mode for adding entries into the treatment grids and for making changes to multiple rows in a grid at once. Grid-Edit mode is the default mode when the template is initially opened. In Grid-Edit mode, the window displays Grid-Edit Mode. Grid-Edit Mode for a treatment grid In Grid-Edit mode, you can: Enter items into treatment grids by typing, selecting from picklists, using a QuickPick or Get Data. See Use Get Data and QuickPicks. Mark items in any grid as D (done or completed today in the facility), Grp (Group Therapy), or part of a HEP (Home Exercise Program).
