Open a patient record, and then in
Encounter History
, expand a case and select an encounter.
Open the
NTS Speech Single Visit
template.
Select
Collaborators
to open a list of specialties.
To add collaborators, do one or both of the following:
Select one or more specialties from the list to indicate that other providers are collaborating from those specialties.
Select
--Free Text--
from the list, enter your custom text, and then select
OK
to insert a unique collaborator.
Select
Close

Speech Subjective Panel
Use this panel to document the patient’s chief complaints and their history. The panel also gives you access to additional templates to document the patient’s limitations, nutrition, cognition, fluency, and other subjective information. Document Patient Education for Speech Therapy
Open a patient record, and then in Encounter History, expand a case and select an encounter. Open the NTS Homepage template associated with the encounter, and then select an SLP visit type. Open the NTS Speech Single Visit template, and then expand the Objective panel. Under Treatment, select Education. The Speech Education template opens. Under Education, select a field to open a list of education descriptions, and then do one of the following: Select a description from the list to insert it into the field. Select Free Text to return to the field, and then enter a custom description of the education provided. Optional: Repeat the previous step to document additional patient education. In Patient and/or Caregiver Education, enter additional information related to the patient education or caregiver training. This information appears on the Plan of Care and Office Visit documents. Select Save & Close. The SLP Education row is added to the Treatment grid in the Objective panel. Parent top

Document Caregiver Education for Speech Therapy
You can document the speech therapy training the patient's caregiver receives in the patient's absence. The patient or representative must have given consent for this training. The caregiver training information appears on the Office Visit document. Open a patient record, and then in Encounter History, expand a case and select an encounter. Open the NTS Homepage template associated with the encounter, and then select an SLP visit type. Open the NTS Speech Single Visit template, and then expand the Objective panel. Under Treatment, select Education. The Education template opens in the Speech Education window. Select Patient consented to caregiver training. Select the appropriate checkbox that describes whether the caregiver training is for an individual or a group. For individual caregiver training, enter the total minutes of training time in Min, and then enter any therapist assistant-led training time in Asst. Select a Treating Diagnosis for Speech Single Visit
When a patient comes to you for therapy, they may have one or more ordering diagnoses already added. Based on your assessment, you determine the treating diagnoses to support the patient’s need for therapy. You can select from the existing ordering diagnoses or select additional ones that better reflect the specific diagnoses related to therapy treatment. Expand the Assessment panel. Ordering Dx lists the diagnoses that were added on the NTS Homepage template. Under Ordering Dx, review the ordering diagnoses to determine which ones should be included as treating diagnoses. Select an ordering diagnosis, and then select the right arrow to move it to the Treating Dx list. Ordering Dx and Treating Dx grids on the Speech Assessment panel Treating Dx displays the diagnosis. Add Treatment Plan Details for PT/OT and Speech Visits
In the NTS Single Visit or NTS Speech Single Visit template, expand the Plan panel, and then go to the Treatment Plan section. If this is the first visit in this case, the Treatment grid will be empty. Afterwards, when you open this template, all entries in the grid copy forward from the prior visit. Select a category of treatment activities by doing one of the following: To enter general treatment activities, select Default. To enter treatment activities specific to a specialty, select a specialty category. Note: Administrators can configure categories and associated picklists in the NTS Picklist Manager practice template. Select the Treatment field. A picklist of treatment items opens. Do one of the following to add all treatment activities you plan to use to rehabilitate the patient: Select the items from the picklist, and then select Close or Done.
