Attach a Document
When you attach a document from the patient's chart, it is added to the NextGen® PxP Portal document history after the message is sent. You can also include documents saved on your computer in a message. From the main toolbar, select the Inbox button. The Workflow window opens. Select Compose. The Patient Portal Message window opens. Select the Attachments tab. The Attachments window opens. Optional: To attach a document such as a Microsoft® Word®, Adobe® Acrobat®, image, text, or HTML file from your computer, on the Attachments tab, select Word button, and then select a file. To include a document from the patient's chart, on the Attachments tab, select Add an attachment button. On the Add An Attachment window, under Documents, expand the encounter dates. Select the documents you want to include, and then select OK.The attached documents appear on the Attachments tab. Note: To remove an attached document, select the attachment and the remove button. The patient receives a notification

Send Documents and Images as Attachments
Before you begin You must add the required documents and images to a patient's chart. The documents and images that are added to the patient's encounter include items, such as: Emails Growth charts Local files Patient Education Materials You can also send NextGen® Document Management images, and SAP Crystal Reports as attachments in communication messages. For more information on NextGen® Enterprise EHR documents, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest the Layout and Preferences Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR.CAUTION: If the size exceeds the limit, a message lists the documents that exceeding 15 MB. These documents are not sent to the NextGen® PxP Portal. In System Administrator, you can set the size limit for documents that are sent to NextGen® PxP Portal. You can attach the following types of documents to your messages: Document from a patient's chart Interactive Medical Forms Note: To attach a document such as a Microsoft® Word®, Adobe® Acrobat®, image, text, or HTML file from your computer, on the Attachments tab, you can select and then select a file. The patient receives a notification for a message with multiple attachments after all the attachments are processed. The message displays the status of each attachment. If an attachment fails to process, its status appears as failed. If an attachment is being processed, its status appears as in process. Attach a Document You can send independent documents as attachments in a NextGen® PxP Portal message. On the NextGen® Enterprise PM main toolbar, select the Mailbox button. From the list in the upper-right corner of the window, select Patient Portal. Important: The Patient Portal option does not appear in the list if your NextGen® PxP Portal license is not available or has expired. A list of patient portal folders appears in the left pane. A list of messages appears in the right pane. Select the New Message button.. The Patient Portal Message window opens. After composing a message, select the Attachments tab.The Attachments window opens. On the Attachments tab, select the add an interactive form button. Send Interactive Medical History Forms as Attachments
Before you begin You must set up Interactive Medical History (IMH) in the following: File Maintenance; for more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Configuration Guide for NextGen® PxP Portal. NextGen® PxP Portal Integration Tool; for more information, contact the NextGen Healthcare Implementation team. Patients can complete and submit IMH forms online through NextGen® PxP Portal. Optionally, they can also print out, complete, and submit the forms when they visit your practice. In the NextGen® Enterprise EHR top toolbar, select Patient . The Patient Lookup window opens. Search for and select a NextGen® PxP Portal enrolled patient. For more information on searching for a patient, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Patient Demographics Guide for NextGen® Enterprise.
