practice template, expand the
Waterproofing
panel.
Select the code from the grid.
Click
Delete

Add a Waterproofing Code
The waterproofing grid comes pre-loaded with a tape and liner code. You can add additional codes for tape and liners to be used throughout the NextGen® Orthopedic Suite. On the Cast & Splint Configuration practice template, expand the Waterproofing panel. Select Enable cast waterproofing check box. In the field below the Type column of the grid, select the waterproofing type. Click the field below Description column of the grid. The Select a waterproofing code window opens. Waterproofing panel on the Cast and Splint Configuration template Do one of the following: Search by description by entering any part of the description in the Description field. Search by procedure code by entering the code in the Procedure field. Select the desired item. The selected description and code for the selected item appear in the corresponding fields. Click OK. The Select a waterproofing code window is closed and the selected code and description appear in the corresponding fields below the grid. Click A

Manage Waterproofing Codes for Cast and Splints
You can use the Waterproofing panel of the Cast & Splint Configuration practice template to enable and configure waterproofing codes that are applied to casts. Before you configure casts and splints, determine if waterproofing will be used and, if so, what waterproofing codes will be used. Remove Codes from a Cast or Splint
You can remove the codes from cast or splint that is not used or billed out by your practice. On the Cast & Splint Configuration practice template, expand the Cast & Splint panel. Select the desired cast or splint in the grid. The selected item displays a check mark in the first column. Click Delete. Parent topic: Manage Cast and Splint Codes

Add Waterproofing to a Cast or Splint
You can add waterproofing to a cast or splint, using the fields below the WP Tape, # Rolls, and WP Liner columns of the grid. Note: If waterproofing is not enabled, these fields will be grayed out on the configuration template (and on the medical record template). To enable waterproofing, open the Waterproofing panel and select the Enable cast waterproofing check box. There must also be entries in the Waterproofing grid. On the Cast & Splint Configuration practice template, expand the Cast & Splint panel. Cast and Splint panel on the Cast and Splint Configuration template From the grid, select the desired splint or cast. The values for the selected record appear in the corresponding fields below the grid. Select the waterproofing codes in the WP Tape and WP Liner fields. Enter in a default number of rolls for selected WP Tape. This number fills the field on the medical record template when waterproofing is selected. Remove a Code from the Applicable CPT Codes Grid
