Outside Diagnostic Studies Grid

The Outside Diagnostic Studies grid displays the patient's outside diagnostics, including external radiology studies from the Order module, outside diagnostic studies reported by the patient, and External orders placed on the Radiology Order and Single Order templates. You can filter the Outside Diagnostic Studies grid by performed date using the following filters above the grid:

Update an External Order on the Outside Diagnostic Studies Template

If you are working on the Outside Diagnostic Studies template and select an External radiology order in the grid that was placed on the Radiology Order and Single Order templates, the Radiology Mgmt button appears. Click Edit below the Outside Diagnostic Studies grid. On the Outside Diagnostic Studies template, from the top grid, select an External order. The Radiology Mgmt button becomes enabled. Click the Radiology Mgmt button. The Radiology Order Management template opens. Make changes as needed. Click Update. Parent topic: Outside Diagnostics Studies

Edit an External Order from the Outside Diagnostic Study Grid

You can edit and manage External orders placed on the Radiology Order and Single Order templates on the Radiology Order Management template. Select an External order in the grid and click Edit below the Outside Diagnostic Studies grid. The Radiology Order Management template opens. Click the Original Report Findings link to view the original report findings, if applicable. If the provider has read the report, they can enter their findings in the Findings and Impressions fields. Note: Findings and impressions entered here do not go to the Order module and is only available in the NextGen® Orthopedic Suite. Click Update. Click Close. Parent topic: Outside Diagnostics Studies

Add an Outside Diagnostic Study

You can add outside diagnostic studies to the Outside Diagnostic Studies grid to maintain a complete picture of the patient's diagnostic history. These studies may be discussed in the intake process or sent from an outside facility. Click Add below the Outside Diagnostic Studies grid. Outside Diagnostic Studies template The Outside Diagnostic Studies template opens. Enter the Category and Body Part below the grid. Best practice recommends that you enter a Category and Body Part for outside diagnostics because these fields are used to filter radiology grids. Enter the Test Description. Enter the Performed date and the Location for the study. For Electronic Results, select one of the following: Yes No If known, enter the Findings and Impressions from the report. Click Add. Edit an Outside Diagnostic Study from the Order Module

Diagnostic studies from the Order module are from NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine specialties and appear in the Outside Diagnostic Studies grid. Select a test in the Outside Diagnostics Studies grid and click Edit. The Outside Diagnostic Studies template opens with the selected test details. Click the Original Report Findings link to view the original report findings and, if applicable. Return to the Outside Diagnostic Studies template. If the provider has read the report, they can enter their findings in the Findings and Impressions fields. Note: The Findings and Impression fields on the Outside Diagnostic Studies template do not appear in the Order module and this information is only available in the NextGen® Orthopedic Suite. Delete an Outside Diagnostics Study

You can only remove outside diagnostic studies that have been entered on the Outside Diagnostic Studies template. Click Edit below the Outside Diagnostic Studies grid. The Outside Diagnostic Studies template opens. Select the test to be removed from the grid. Click Delete. A system alert appears to confirm the deletion of the test from the grid. If the test is from the Order module, the system fires an alert stating that you cannot remove the test. Note: If the test was placed on the Radiology Order or Single Order template, or from the Order module, the Delete button is disabled. Parent topic: Outside Diagnostics Studies

The Outside Diagnostic Studies grid enables you to edit diagnostic studies entered on the Outside Diagnostic Studies template. Select a test in the Outside Diagnostics Studies grid, and click Edit. The Outside Diagnostic Studies template opens with the selected test details. Make changes as needed. If the provider has read the report, they can enter their findings in the Findings and Impressions fields. Note: The Findings and Impression fields are not shared to the Order module, and this information is only available in the NextGen® Orthopedic Suite. Click Update. Click Save & Close.
