Tracking the Percentage of Reduction in IOP
IOP Reduction is automatically calculated from the baseline IOP to the most recent IOP reading. The baseline IOP is a pre-treatment reading, taken before medications, laser procedures, or any other form of treatment. IOP Reduction is used by NextGen® HQM.
During an initial encounter, an appropriate baseline value for each eye is entered in the Baseline IOP OD and OS fields. IOP Baseline values are pre-treatment and only entered once.
Whenever you enter and save IOP measurements, the IOP Reduction fields automatically calculate and display the percentage of reduction in IOP between the baseline IOP (pre-treatment reading) and the most recent IOP reading taken.
For every subsequent encounter, the IOP Reduction fields only update to reflect the percent of reduction when the IOP is measured and saved. Because IOP Reduction values are based on the most recent IOP measurements, adjusting IOP values does not change the calculated reduction.
The IOP Reduction fields only calculate a percentage of reduction if you have entered baseline values. If the IOP stays the same or increases, the calculated IOP Reduction is zero.
