Ophthalmology Diagnostic Tests Setup Data Set

The Oph diagnostic tests data set manages records that control how certain diagnostic tests used by Ophthalmology are processed. These data set records control billing options, how records are sent to the Orders module, computerized provider order entry (CPOE), and if they are displayed on the test ordering template. Each row in the grid represents a single diagnostic test. The following shows the diagnostic test information contained in the Oph diagnostic tests data set as it appears on the Order Tests – OPH template in the Select tests section. Up to 40 tests display. Tests performed today and tests to be performed in the future can be ordered from the Order Tests – OPH template. Tests that are ordered are saved to the order_table and they can be uploaded to the Orders module. Add a New Contact Lens Type to the Data Set

From the Data Sets Setup template, click the Data Set field and select Oph Contact lens type from the DB picklist. The Data Sets grid refreshes to display existing items in the Oph Contact lens type data set. Highlight the row in the Data Sets grid to be updated. Click Add. The Template Data Sets Setup – [New Record] template opens, and the edit fields are empty. To enter details for a new data set item, click the fields and type in the information using free text. Fields for contact lens type include: Brand Type Base Curve Diameter Click Save in the toolbar. To enter a new data set item, click Clear For Add. Click Close when you have completed adding items to the data set. The Template Data Sets Setup – [New Record] template closes, and you return to the Data Sets Setup practice template. Update an Existing Contact Lens Type in the Data Set

From the Data Sets Setup template, click the Data Set field and select Oph Contact lens type from the DB picklist. The grid refreshes to display existing items in the Oph Contact lens type data set. Highlight the row in the Data Sets grid to be updated. Click Update. The Template Data Sets Setup – [New Record] template opens and displays details for the contact lens in the edit fields. To make any changes to an existing data set item, click the fields and type in your changes using free text. Fields Used by the Ophthalmology Contact Lens Type Data Set

Each of the contact lens types configured in the Ophthalmology contact lens type data set has specific information to be set up. These are listed below: Field Description Data Set The Data Set field displays the name of the selected data set being updated. Set Info The Set Info field displays a description of the selected data set. Brand The Brand field contains the name of the brand or manufacturer of the contact lens. This field can be edited as needed using free text. Type The Type field contains the name of the contact lens type. This field can be edited as needed using free text. Base Curve The Base Curve field contains the base curve measurement of the contact lens. This field can be edited as needed using free text. Diameter The Diameter field contains the diameter measurement of the contact lens. This field can be edited as needed using free text. Ophthalmology Contact Lens Type Data Set

The Ophthalmic Contact Lens Types data set is used on the Contact Lens Evaluation – OPH template to populate fields related to contact lens type that in previous versions where hard-coded. When you click the Type fields on the template, a list of contact lens types opens from which you can select the appropriate contact lens for the patient. Because contact lenses are constantly changing, having the Ophthalmology contact lens types data set enables providers to easily update and maintain a current list of available contact lens types to select from when documenting a contact lens fitting encounter. Ophthalmic Contact Lens Types data set Contact lens information in the Ophthalmology contact lens type data set is easily reviewed and updated. Existing contact lens types can be modified, and new contact lenses added using the Template Data Sets Setup - [New Record] template. Remove an Existing Contact Lens Type from the Data Set

From the Data Sets Setup template, click the Data Set field and select Oph Contact lens type from the DB picklist. The Data Sets grid refreshes to display existing items in the Oph Contact lens type data set. Highlight the row in the Data Sets grid to be removed and click Remove.
