View the Current Medications for a Patient
You can view the medications of a patient in the Medications module. The controlled substances medication names appear in red color. In NextGen® Mobile, select a patient.The Patient Chart view opens. If the medications are prescribed to the patient, the Medications module displays a value in parenthesis. The value indicates the number of active medications prescribed. If no value is displayed, the patient does not have active medications. The patient can have inactive or pending medications. Select the Medications section.The list of active patient medications appears. Medication section For properly configured NextGen Healthcare clinics, the patient’s medication formulary eligibility status appears in Rx Eligibility. To view the patient’s inactive or pending medications, select Active and select Inactive or Pending in the displayed list. Stop a Medication
In NextGen® Mobile, open the Patient Chart view. Select the Medications section. The list of patient medications appears. Select View/Edit for the medication that you want to stop. The RxDetails view opens. Select Stop. The Stop medication view opens. If the medication is ineffective, select Mark ineffective. Select Stop. A message appears confirming the medication update. Stop a Medication
You can stop a medication or mark the medication as ineffective in the Medications module when one of the following conditions are met: You are not enrolled to Cancel Rx. You are enrolled to Cancel Rx and the medication was prescribed more than two years ago. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open Medications module. Select an active medication. To stop multiple medications, either select and hold the Shift key and select the desired medications or select and hold the Ctrl key and select multiple medications. The Last Audit column must be same when selecting multiple medications to Stop or Mark Ineffective. Select the arrow on the Stop button, and then select either Stop or Mark Ineffective. If you mark an active medication as ineffective, a stop type Rx Note is automatically added to the medication. The note includes text indicating it was stopped due to ineffectiveness. If you try to prescribe the ineffective medication, an Ineffective Warning is displayed on the Drug Interactions window

View Inactive Medications
The Medications section displays the count of active medications. By default, you can view the active medications for a patient. Open NextGen® Mobile. Open the Patient Chart window. On Facesheet, select Medications. The list of active medications appears. Medication section Select Active. The filter list opens. Do the following. To view inactive medications, select Inactive. To view the medications that are pending for approval, select Pending. Select Done. The selected medication list opens. Note: If you have not set your NextGen defaults on logon, you can select Filter icon to view the inactive medications, and then turn on Show Inactive Medications.
