Selecting Dictation Send Preferences

When you have completed your dictation, you can select the edit selection icon, and then select one of the following options: Edit options Send to EHR EHR icon - The recorded dictation goes through speech recognition, and the draft is delivered to NextGen® Enterprise EHR. You must self-edit the draft to ensure accuracy. The recording is available for review in the Completed Jobs list for 48 hours from the time it is sent. Send to Transcription Transcription icon - The recorded dictation goes through speech recognition, and the draft is sent to a transcription team for editing. The transcription team listens to the audio, and checks the note against the provided patient demographics. The note is edited and delivered to NextGen® Enterprise EHR within 24 hours. Device Edit Device icon - Only available if you have turned off the Hide Streaming Text option in the Settings view. The recorded dictation goes through speech recognition, and the draft returns to your mobile device for review and

Inserting Macros in Dictation

You can use macros in NextGen® Mobile dictation streaming workflows to save time and improve documentation consistency. Macros substitute frequently-used text for shorter expressions during dictation. For example, you can quickly insert a standard set of instructions into your dictation text by mentioning the appropriate macro. You can document common or generic clinical notes with MY MACROS to reuse during dictation in the Edit Dictator view of NextGen® Mobile Settings. When new macros are added in NextGen® Mobile Cloud Portal, and if the macros do not work in NextGen® Mobile for dictations, you must reopen the NextGen® Mobile application and try inserting the macros in your dictations. Note: The Macros option is available if you use NextGen® Speech-to-Text in NextGen® Mobile. Insert Macros You can use macros to substitute frequently used text during dictation. Holding Jobs

In the NextGen® Mobile dictation streaming, NextGen® Mobile dictation, and classic dictation workflows, you can hold a job to save the dictation and send it later. You can return to the dictation job view to pause a job after you have dictated. The job appears in the job list displaying the patient’s name in red and a status indicating that they are on hold. Your current audio is saved and you can return to the patient later to finish and send your dictation. You can select the Job Filters Filter icon icon, and then select Hold Jobs to view the held jobs. Note: Jobs on hold for more than 60 days are automatically deleted. Mark a Job as Stat

If you are sending a job to transcription using Send to Transcription Transcription icon, you can request a two hour turnaround time for the dictation to return to NextGen® Enterprise EHR or designated location by marking the job as stat Stat flag. You can use this option in NextGen® Mobile dictation streaming, NextGen® Mobile dictation rhythm, and classic dictation - non rhythm workflows. Note: The Send to Transcription option is not available for NextGen® Mobile users integrated with NextGen® Speech-to-Text (STT). Open NextGen® Mobile. Open a dictation job. Select Record Dictation.The Stop button appears with a timer for recording your dictation. Select stat flag Stat flag.The dictation is prioritized when it is sent. NextGen Mobile Dictation Streaming Workflow

With NextGen® Mobile dictation streaming, you can do the following: Dictate your job with or without displaying the streaming text. You can edit the dictated note using keyboard and verbal commands when the transcription system processes and completes the transcription of the dictated note. If you have macros set up for your dictator profile, you can use them to quickly insert snippets of text into your dictation. You can attach images to your job. You can make annotations on the attached images and add text boxes to the images. When you are ready to transmit your job, you can select an edit option that controls how your job is handled when you transmit it, and whether it returns to you for additional review. You can choose from several clinical workflow options, including sending to NextGen® Enterprise EHR, sending to transcription, or performing a device edit.
