File Menu
Command Function New Opens a new template for the selected template type. New Sub Template Creates a new sub template for the selected template type. Open Displays the Open window. Close Closes the current template. Save Saves the current template. Save As Template Sets Displays the Save As Template Sets window that enables you to save the current template to the selected template set(s). Copy Template Displays the Copy Template window that enables you to copy the current template. Display As Displays the Display As window that enables you to enter a template display name for the current template. Delete Displays the Delete window that enables you to delete the current template or template snippet. Open User Workspace Opens the user workspace for the selected template type. New Snippet Creates a new template snippet for the selected template type. Log Off Logs off Template Editor. Displays the Template Editor Logon window for you to exit the application or log back on. Exit Completely

Main Toolbar
The following table describes the buttons on the Main toolbar from left to right: Toolbar Button Function Open Displays the Open window, enabling you to select and open a template or template snippet. Save Saves the current template. Delete Field Deletes the selected fields. You must confirm the deletion. Snippets & Sub Templates Turns the Snippets and Sub Templates pane on/off on the left side of the Template Editor main window. Save as User Workspace Saves fields and triggers to a personal user workspace. Expression Builder Bar Enables you to select a field on the template and build expression. Paste User Workspace Enables you to paste a user workspace containing fields and triggers to the current template or other opened templates within Template Editor. Undo Enables you to undo the last preceding action, up to 11 times. You can undo/redo the following types of actions: moving, resizing, deleting, inserting, or pasting fields; resizing data sheet columns or Popup templates; setting

Tools Menu
You can access the tools menu from the Template Editor main window. Command Function Template Edit Log Opens the Template Edit Log window where you can refresh and delete the open templates. Template Sets Opens the Template Sets window where you can create, modify, save, and disable a template. Preferences Opens the User Preferences window where you can set preferences. Update Template Links Opens the Update Template Links window where you can update the template links. Attributes Opens the Attributes Setup window where you can add, update, and remove attributes. Codified Fields Opens the Set Codified Field Attribute Utility window where you can change the values for the KBM.CodifyField attribute in the user mode as well. Auto Check Triggers Opens the Auto Check Triggers window where you can check for trigger syntax of one or multiple templates without opening them individually. Use Find and Replace
You can find and replace all instances of a field, variable, or function with another field, variable, or function using the Find and Replace feature. You can use this feature in a: Trigger condition Value calculation Macro function body Trigger setup window (for example, for entries in the DBPickList trigger and Patient Allergy trigger) You can use IntelliSense lists to fill in the find and replace with entries. Select the expression input box. Condition box in the Trigger Info window, or Value Calculation box in the Assign Field Value window. To display the Find and Replace window, enter F3. In the Find box, select the field/variable/function to be replaced from the Find list or from an IntelliSense list. In the Replace with box, select the replacement field/variable/function from the Replace list or from an IntelliSense list. Select OK. Every instance of the original field/variable/function in the expression or entry is replaced with the new field, variable, or function you selected

Template Editor Main Window Components
The Template Editor main window opens when you launch the application. It contains the following elements: The Title bar displays the template name (template type) and contains controls for minimizing, maximizing, and closing the window. The Menu bar contains the File, Edit, View, Layout, Tools, and Help menus. Main toolbar Format toolbar Fields toolbar Quick Action toolbar The template design area is where you view, create, or edit a template. The template field list displays the name of each field on the currently open template. You can select a field in this pane to locate it in the design area. Layout toolbar Status bar You can drag any of the toolbars to another position at the top of the window or to the design area. If you move a toolbar to the design area, it becomes a detachable window that you can position vertically or horizontally. Add Comments
You can enter text directly into the field or enter saved phrases from a “My Phrases” set. Select the My Phrases link above the field. The INF MyPhrases Select template opens and displays phrases you have saved (Show Mine) for that Category. For example: subjective, objective, and plan. INF MyPhrases Select template opened from My Phrases link To see and select: Phrases added by the rendering provider, check the Show Rendering checkbox. Another user’s phrases, check the Show Other checkbox, and then select the field to choose the other user whose phrases you want to use. System Set phrases, check the Show System Set checkbox. Multiple sets of phrases, select more than one checkbox. Note: You can use phrases other than your own, but you cannot change them. Double-click a phrase to move it into the Comments field of the INF MyPhrases Select template. When you are finished adding phrases, select Save & Close. The phrases you selected enter the Comments field on the workflow template. Note
