Manage Template Properties

Always review the existing fields tab order after you create a new template. Make any necessary changes to the default fields tab order. Open the Template Properties window. The Fields Tab Order tab appears by default. In the Fields Tab Order tab, do the following: Select a field. To move the field up or down in order, select the Up or Down button. To move the field to the top or the bottom in order, select the Top or Bottom button. In the Font and Color tab, do the following: To change just the font size, select the Size up or down arrow to select a new size. From the Style list in the Font and Color tab, select the new style. To change the entire font, select Font to display the Font window. Select the font, font style, and size. If applicable, you can select another language script. To close the window and save your selections, select OK. Note: Arial Regular, 8 points, is the standard default. From the Text list in the Font and Color tab, select one of the standard colors. Enable the Popup Template OK and Cancel Button Bar

You can show the OK and Cancel button bar instead of the standard OK and Cancel buttons on a Popup template. The button bar keeps the OK and Cancel buttons visible when the template is scrolled at run time. You can map the OK and Cancel buttons on the bar to the original OK and Cancel buttons or to other buttons on the Popup template to execute the trigger from the button it is mapped to. You can place the OK and Cancel button bar on any Popup template type. You can display both a navigation bar and the OK and Cancel button bar on the same Popup template. Note: If you map the OK button on the bar to the original OK button, the Popup template is saved and closed when the user selects OK. If you map the OK button to another button, set up a Save &Close Template trigger on that button. If you map buttons other than the original OK and Cancel buttons to the bar, you can hide them by selecting the Hidden check box in the field's property window or using a Hide Item trigger. Template Properties

You can set up the following template properties: The Fields Tab Order tab enables you to set up the order for tabbing through template fields. Unless you enter a specific order, Template Editor default tab order to the sequence in which the fields were created. The Font and Color tab enables you to set the Template font, font style, size, default text color for all newly created labels on the template, and template background color. The Background Image tab enables you to display a background image on a template in high resolution (more than 256 colors) or in low resolution (256 colors). The Preferences tab enables you to set up preferences for the Use Alias template, Sidebar template, Popup template toolbars, Template size, and Collapsible panels on your templates. The Comments tab enables you to add comments to a template snippet or sub template. Set up Launch Template Trigger

The Launch Template action saves and closes the current template and then launches another template for either the current encounter or another specified encounter. You can keep the original template open when the new template is launched. This trigger can be used on Sidebar templates in addition to other template types. Follow the applicable steps in General Trigger Setup. Select the Launch Template action. The Launch Template window opens. To select the template, field, or variable you want to use to launch the template, select Fields, Templates, or Variables, and then select the applicable item from the list that appears. To use the original NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, select the Ignore Alias check box. Note: This functionality is available only if the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine have been locked down. Set up Template Pop-Up Trigger

The Template Pop-Up action launches a predefined Popup template. You can place this trigger on fields on Sidebar templates as well as other template types. Use this trigger together with a Get Template Notification Data trigger to launch Popup templates for the Graphical Exam Tool (GET) component. Follow the applicable steps in General Trigger Setup. Select the Template Pop-Up action. The Template Pop-Up window opens. Select the template or the field or variable you want to use to launch the template pop-up. Select Fields, Templates, or Variables, and then select the applicable item from the list that displays. Select the Ignore Alias check box to use the original NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Note: This functionality is available only if the NextGen® Enterprise EHR have been locked down. Select Script It. The Script Clipboard window opens with the script of the label. Update Template Links

The Update Template Links option enables you to update all template triggers and navigation links to reference a new user-defined template in place of the original NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. Note: This functionality is available only if the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine have been locked down (User Mode). You can also update template links through the Use Alias option. From the Menu bar, select Tools, and then Update Template Links. The Update Template Links window opens. From the Template Type list, select the applicable type. From the Original list, select the template which is currently referenced by all of the existing triggers. From the New list, select the user-defined template that must now be referenced by the triggers. Select Update. A message box appears when the template link is updated. To dismiss the message box, select OK. To restore the referencing to the original NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, select that template from the Original list, and leave the New li
