Status bar	Function
Selected Field	Displays the currently selected template field.
AutoSave Status	Indicates whether the AutoSave option is turned on or off.
User/Admin Mode	Displays if Template Editor is in User or NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine Admin Mode. The UpdateTemplateHashKeys program is used to set the database to User Mode. NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine Admin Mode is available only after NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine lockdown. Note: Admin Mode is not available to users.
Template Type	Shows whether the currently open template is a user-defined (User) or NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine (available only after NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine lockdown).
Data	Indicates amount of data entered into the template.
Fields	Indicates number of fields used in the template.
Position	Indicates vertical and horizontal position of the selected field.
Size	Indicates the size of the selected template.
Num, Caps, and Scroll Locks	Indicates whether Number, Caps and/or Scroll Locks are enabled on your keyboard.

Command Function Toolbars Turns the Main, Fields, Format, Layout, and Quick Action toolbars on/off. Status Bar Turns the Status bar on/off. Grid Settings Displays the Grid Settings window. Grid Turns the grid on/off in the template design area. Resolution Guide Enables you to select or set up the screen resolution. Fields List Turns the field list pane on/off on the right side of the Template Editor main window. Snippets & Sub Templates List Turns the Snippets and Sub Templates pane on/off on the left side of the Template Editor main window. Triggers Displays the Triggers window. File Menu

Command Function New Opens a new template for the selected template type. New Sub Template Creates a new sub template for the selected template type. Open Displays the Open window. Close Closes the current template. Save Saves the current template. Save As Template Sets Displays the Save As Template Sets window that enables you to save the current template to the selected template set(s). Copy Template Displays the Copy Template window that enables you to copy the current template. Display As Displays the Display As window that enables you to enter a template display name for the current template. Delete Displays the Delete window that enables you to delete the current template or template snippet. Open User Workspace Opens the user workspace for the selected template type. New Snippet Creates a new template snippet for the selected template type. Log Off Logs off Template Editor. Displays the Template Editor Logon window for you to exit the application or log back on. Exit Completely

Tools Menu

You can access the tools menu from the Template Editor main window. Command Function Template Edit Log Opens the Template Edit Log window where you can refresh and delete the open templates. Template Sets Opens the Template Sets window where you can create, modify, save, and disable a template. Preferences Opens the User Preferences window where you can set preferences. Update Template Links Opens the Update Template Links window where you can update the template links. Attributes Opens the Attributes Setup window where you can add, update, and remove attributes. Codified Fields Opens the Set Codified Field Attribute Utility window where you can change the values for the KBM.CodifyField attribute in the user mode as well. Auto Check Triggers Opens the Auto Check Triggers window where you can check for trigger syntax of one or multiple templates without opening them individually. Template Properties

You can set up the following template properties: The Fields Tab Order tab enables you to set up the order for tabbing through template fields. Unless you enter a specific order, Template Editor default tab order to the sequence in which the fields were created. The Font and Color tab enables you to set the Template font, font style, size, default text color for all newly created labels on the template, and template background color. The Background Image tab enables you to display a background image on a template in high resolution (more than 256 colors) or in low resolution (256 colors). The Preferences tab enables you to set up preferences for the Use Alias template, Sidebar template, Popup template toolbars, Template size, and Collapsible panels on your templates. The Comments tab enables you to add comments to a template snippet or sub template. Layout Toolbar

The following table describes the buttons on the Layout toolbar from left to right. Toolbar Button Function Pop-up Template Position Enables you to position Popup templates on the screen. Alignment Aligns the selected fields right, left, top, or bottom. Center Centers the selected fields vertically or horizontally. Spacing Provides the selected fields with even spacing either vertically or horizontally. Make Same Makes the selected fields the same width, height, or size. Swap Panels Swaps the position of two selected collapsible panels. The fields on each panel are retained when the panel is switched. CAUTION: In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, for the current logged-on user, the collapsible panels appear in the order the template was initially saved in Template Editor. If panels are swapped again, the latest saved panel order appears only if: The current user right-clicks the panel and selects Panel Defaults.
