Set Up Radiology CDS Trigger

You can incorporate the Radiology Clinical Decision Support (CDS) triggers in My Custom Plan and Diagnostic templates using the Radiology CDS trigger while placing an order with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) rules and CPT® code set enabled in File Maintenance.
  1. Open Template Editor and set up general triggers.
  2. Select the Radiology CDS action.
    The CDS window opens.

  3. Under the Input section, do the following:
    1. Select the current Provider that performs the check.
    2. Select Gender and DOB.
    3. Select diagnosis codes from Dx Code1, Dx Code2, Dx Code3, Dx Code4.
    4. Select procedure code from CPT4 Code.
    5. Select Entity ID and Entity Name of the lab system.
    6. Select Lab Test Code and Lab Test Description for the lab code.
    7. Select Y or N for Allow Alternate Cpt.
      If you set the value as Y, then you can select alternate CPT® codes from AUC wizard.
  4. Under Output section, do the following.
    1. Select Response Code.
    2. Select DSN returned from NDSC.
    3. Select Score returned from the CDS dialog.
    4. Select timestamp from Support Timestamp.
    5. Select Y or N for Is Max Score?.
      Select Y to return a score.
    6. Select Lab Test Code and Lab ID.
      Lab ID is the same value as entity ID in input from lab ID.
    7. Select CPT4 Code which you select from CDS dialog.
    8. Select Modifiers to appear on the Radiology Requisition report from.
    9. Select G_Code to appear on the Radiology Requisition report.
  5. Select OK and then select Save.
