Add Comments to Template Snippet and Sub Template
The
Comments
tab of the
Template Properties
window enables you to add comments to a template snippet or sub template.
Note:
This tab is included on the
Template Properties
window only if you have a template snippet or sub template open.
Access the
Template Properties
window.
Select the
Comments
tab.
In the
Comment
box, enter your comments.
The comment text automatically wraps in the box.
Select
OK
.

Access Template Properties
Open the template, sub template, template snippet or Popup template. Do one of the following: Double-click anywhere outside a field in the template. Right-click anywhere outside a field on the template, and then select Properties. From the Menu bar, select View > Properties. On the Main toolbar, select Properties. Template Properties
You can set up the following template properties: The Fields Tab Order tab enables you to set up the order for tabbing through template fields. Unless you enter a specific order, Template Editor default tab order to the sequence in which the fields were created. The Font and Color tab enables you to set the Template font, font style, size, default text color for all newly created labels on the template, and template background color. The Background Image tab enables you to display a background image on a template in high resolution (more than 256 colors) or in low resolution (256 colors). The Preferences tab enables you to set up preferences for the Use Alias template, Sidebar template, Popup template toolbars, Template size, and Collapsible panels on your templates. Insert a Sub Template Field
You can paste a sub template to a template from the Sub Templates pane. Drag the Sub Template icon from the Fields toolbar to the template design area where you want to place it. The Insert Sub Template window opens. In the Name text box, enter the name you want to assign. To reposition the field on the template, enter the appropriate numeric values to replace the current vertical and horizontal coordinates displayed in the Position boxes. You can also drag the sub template to another position. Note: The size of the sub template is preset. Select OK. Save your template. Parent topic: Template Fields

Intake Comments
The Intake Comments link in the upper right of the Intake template opens a window where the person handling intake can add notes for others in the practice. Intake Comments link on the Intake template Click the Intake Comments link. The Intake Comments window opens. Type comments in the field. Click Save & Close. The Intake Comments link is now purple. Add a Code Snippet
You can add code snippets which enable you to insert in the script body. On the main toolbar, select the Trigger Functions icon. The Trigger Scripts window opens. Select the ellipsis button next to Add Code Snippet. The My Code Snippets window opens. In Name, enter your name for the snippet. In the Comments box, enter the comments for the snippet. In the code section, enter your code. Select Add. The snippet is added to the grid in the My Code Snippets window. Parent topic: Code Snippets

Open a Template
Do one of the following: On the Main toolbar, select Open. From the Menu bar, select File, and then select Open. The Open window opens with Templates selected by default. To quickly find a template by name, do the following: Select the Template Name (default) or Display Name option. Enter the first few letters of the name in Template name. The window displays the group of template snippets that start with that name. To narrow your search by template type or set, make a selection from the Template type list. Double-click the template you want to open. The template opens. To close the template, from the File menu, select Close. Parent topic: Template Setup
