Change a Trigger

You can edit the field, event, action, or condition for an existing trigger. The edit function also provides a quick way for you to add a trigger based on an existing, simple trigger. This capability cannot be used for certain triggers that are tied to cross-reference tables (for example, the Assign Field Value trigger tied to the trig_mf_xref table). To open the Triggers window, do one of the following: Right-click anywhere on the template, and then select Triggers from the shortcut menu. On the Main toolbar, select Triggers. From the View menu, select Triggers. Select a specific field within the template. Select Triggers, select View > Triggers, or right-click the selected field, and then select Triggers from the shortcut menu. Note: The Copy and Paste buttons appear on the Triggers window only when you select a specific field on the template. In the Triggers window, select the trigger you want to change. Information entered for the selected trigger appear in the Trigger, Condition,

Create Additional Triggers for the Same Field

You can quickly add certain triggers based on existing triggers to the same field and then edit them. This functionality can save time when you have to make changes to a trigger with multiple mappings, such as the Upload Extended Data trigger. Right-click the template field that you want to copy triggers from, and select Triggers from the shortcut menu. The Triggers window opens. Select the trigger you want to copy. Information entered for the selected trigger, appears in the Trigger, Condition, Parameter, and Comment boxes. Select Copy. Select Paste. The Paste Triggers window opens. The Find and Replace With boxes both contain the name of the same field. To copy the Condition and/or Parameters for the field triggers, select the applicable check box. Condition is selected by default. To copy disabled triggers, select the Copy Disabled check box. This option is checked by default. Select OK. The selected triggers are copied. You can edit them as needed. Save your template. Parent topic:

Template Synopsis

The Template Synopsis function enables you to automatically check the items and runs against all the triggers on the template. The fields which are partially out of bounds on the panel also appear in the Info grid and Information box. Note: The Template Synopsis window opens only if the fields inside Collapsible Panel are partially out of bounds. On the Main toolbar, select Template Synopsis. The Template Synopsis window opens. All the fields which are partially out of bounds on the panel appears on the Info grid. Select the field in the Info grid. The field information appears in the Information box. If the field partially crosses the header of the panel then two separate entries are displayed which are partially out of bounds on panel header and panel border. Note: The field names associated with DBPickList, PickList and Stored Procedure triggers using the deleted Stored Procedures, appear in the Template Synopsis window. Select OK. The following table describes the buttons on the Main toolbar from left to right: Toolbar Button Function Open Displays the Open window, enabling you to select and open a template or template snippet. Save Saves the current template. Delete Field Deletes the selected fields. You must confirm the deletion. Snippets & Sub Templates Turns the Snippets and Sub Templates pane on/off on the left side of the Template Editor main window. Save as User Workspace Saves fields and triggers to a personal user workspace. Expression Builder Bar Enables you to select a field on the template and build expression. Paste User Workspace Enables you to paste a user workspace containing fields and triggers to the current template or other opened templates within Template Editor. Undo Enables you to undo the last preceding action, up to 11 times. You can undo/redo the following types of actions: moving, resizing, deleting, inserting, or pasting fields; resizing data sheet columns or Popup templates; setting
