Set up Lookup External ID Trigger

The Lookup External ID action enables you to display the patient's ID from an external system in a predefined field. Follow the applicable steps in General Trigger Setup. Select the Lookup External ID action. The Lookup External System Patient ID window opens. Select the External System and External Patient from the list. To save the information and close the window, select OK. If necessary, set up a specific condition for the Lookup External ID action to be triggered. Select OK and save your template. Set up Patient Item Trigger

The Patient Item action launches an existing patient chart document or image by its ID for quick viewing without searching the patient's encounter tree. The item can be under any locked or open encounter on the patient's chart. You can launch the following types of patient items: Document Email Document Management (ICS) image Image Patient Education topic Report To use the Patient Item trigger, set up another trigger to assign the specific patient encounter item ID to a template variable or field. For example, you can create a patient document ID variable and a Summary Sheet that displays patient document information. You can then assign the item ID from a Row Selected event/Assign Field Value trigger on the Summary Sheet to the patient document ID variable. You can place the Patient Item trigger on a Medical Records (MR) template, Group MR template or a Sidebar template. Set up System Password Trigger

The System Password action automatically returns the stored values of user name and password from an external system. Follow the applicable steps in General Trigger Setup. Select the System Password action. The System Password window opens. From the System list, select the variable or template field that populates the external system at run time. From the User list, select the variable or template field that populates the user name at run time. From the Password list, select the variable or template field that populates the password at run time. To save the information and close the window, select OK. Set up Template Pop-Up Trigger

The Template Pop-Up action launches a predefined Popup template. You can place this trigger on fields on Sidebar templates as well as other template types. Use this trigger together with a Get Template Notification Data trigger to launch Popup templates for the Graphical Exam Tool (GET) component. Follow the applicable steps in General Trigger Setup. Select the Template Pop-Up action. The Template Pop-Up window opens. Select the template or the field or variable you want to use to launch the template pop-up. Select Fields, Templates, or Variables, and then select the applicable item from the list that displays. Select the Ignore Alias checkbox to use the original NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Note: This functionality is available only if the NextGen® Enterprise EHR have been locked down. Select Script It. The Script Clipboard window opens with the script of the label. Set Up a Patient Implantable Device Trigger

You can set up a Patient Implantable Device trigger in Template Editor to map the patient's implantable device information between a template and the Implantable Device module. Open Template Editor. Open a template. Set up a general trigger. From the Action list, select Patient Implantable Device. The Implantable Device window opens. Select the information for the available fields. Select OK. Template Editor saves the trigger information and closes the Implantable Device window. Note: If necessary, set up a specific condition for the Patient Implantable Device action which you want to trigger. Select OK to save the template. Add an External ID

Open the Person Information or Patient Information window for the desired person or patient. Select the Ext tab. Select the Open Menu button, and select New. The Add External Interface window appears. In the External ID field, enter the person or patient's identifier in the external system. This field is required. In the External System field, select from list the appropriate external system. This field is required. Select one of the following buttons: To save changes and add another external system for the person or patient, select Next. To save changes and close the window, select OK. To close the window without saving changes, select Cancel. In the Other ID Number field, enter an identifier for the person or patient that is not related to an external system, if applicable. This number can be used when searching by Other ID Nbr on the Patient Lookup window. For example, enter a patient's medical record number from a legacy application. To save changes and close the window, select OK.
