Opening the Imaging Module

Before you begin Open the Imaging module by doing one of the following: Open an image saved to a patient's medical chart Open a new image stored on your system Scanning a new image When you open the Imaging module, it adds the following items to the Main menu: Items to the View menu. Imaging menu item. Add an Existing Image to the Patient Chart You can add an image to the patient chart. Add a Web Camera Image to the Patient Chart You can add a web camera image to the patient chart. Scan an Image to Add to the Patient Chart You can scan an image to add it to the patient chart. Save an Image to an Encounter You can save an image to the patinet chart or encounter. Open an Image from the Patient Chart You can open an image in the Encounter History or Categories tab. Storage Locations for Images

NextGen® Enterprise EHR offers the ability to store patient chart items (such as documents, images, notes) in separate directories that are automatically separated by date. Note: If you enable multiple storage locations for patient chart items, it automatically overrides the directory setting specified in the Universal Preferences for that item type. For more information on how to set up this feature, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Multiple Storage Location Patient Chart Items for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Imaging Module

The Imaging module enables you to use clinical images while working with a patient’s medical record in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. You can only access the Imaging module when an image is saved to the patient's chart. With the module, you can open existing images to modify, illustrate, annotate, convert, and save them to a patient's history. You can also scan an image, perform necessary modifications, and then save it. Each image is cataloged by patient, date, and title. From the Imaging module, you can add, modify, print, or delete Quicknotes, or add provider signatures to NextGen® Document Management images. Modification or annotation of NextGen® Document Management images is not enabled.
