Patient Problem Trigger Overview

You can run a Patient Problem trigger to add, update, delete, or track a patient's clinical problem instead of using the Problems module. The trigger action updates the patient's clinical problem list in the Problems module. Clinical problems are codified and represented by SNOMED-CT clinical concepts and descriptive terms or synonyms. The Patient Problem trigger is set up in Template Editor. When you run the Patient Problem trigger to add a selected SNOMED-CT problem, a Drug Utilization Review (DUR) may be performed based on your enterprise and user preferences. Search for a SNOMED-CT Body Structure Concept ID

You can launch the SNOMED-CT body structure search window from a Body Structure Pop-Up trigger on a template which enables you to search for and select a SNOMED-CT concept ID from the body structure hierarchy. Enter the body structure description in full or in part in the text box at the top. Select Search, or select the Enter key. The search results grid displays a list of synonyms for the search term entered. The synonyms are displayed in three columns by Description, Fully Specified Name, and Concept ID. Note: Up to 100 results are displayed at a time. If over 100 results are available, a message appears. Refine the search term to display fewer, more specific results. Do the following as per your requirement: To change the column order, drag the column header left or right. To adjust the width of a column, drag the vertical column border in or out. The Problem List tab enables you to view the details of the active, inactive, resolved, and unresolved problems of a patient and update them as needed. You can record and update a patient’s problems using the Systemized Nomenclature of Medicine - Clinical Terms (SNOMED-CT®) concept. SNOMED-CT® is a standard vocabulary used to express clinical terms. SNOMED-CT® is comprised of descriptive terms or synonyms related to a clinical concept and provides links between different concepts. The problem list is demographic and is not associated with an encounter. After you record a problem if you need to use it as a diagnosis for billing, you must add the problem to the billing ICD list.
