Provider Enrollment

To use the ePrescribing feature, providers must be enrolled with the correct service provider. Provider enrollment is practice specific. For example, a provider enrolled in Practice A is not automatically enrolled in Practice B because details such as address or NPI number can be different for each practice. Provider Service Level

A provider who is enrolled with the Surescripts retail or mail-order pharmacy networks can perform certain actions only if the following applicable service levels are selected: New Rx sends a new Rx request to the pharmacy. Note: This service level is always enabled for enrolled providers. The Practice Rights in System Administrator must be set to Yes. Refill Request receives refill requests from pharmacies. Medication History receives a patient's entire medication history from Surescripts. Eligibility checks patient's eligibility. Rx Change receives a request from a pharmacy to change a prescription. Rx Fill receives prescription fill statuses from pharmacies that support the RxFill transaction. Rx Fill Indicator Change changes the RxFill notifications for a medication and send an update response back to the enrolled pharmacy. View the eRx Provider Status

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, from the View menu, select eRx Provider Status. The Provider Check window opens. Provider Check To close the window, select Done. Parent topic: ePrescribing Setup

Configure an eRx Supervising Physician

In File Maintenance, from Master Files > System, select Providers. The Providers List window opens. Double-click a provider. The Modify Provider Information window opens. Select the ePrescribing tab. Select Supervising Physician Required. Modify Provider Information Do one of the following: Select a provider from the Supervising Physician list. For no default provider, clear the Supervising Physician list. If you want the rendering provider to be the supervising physician, select Rendering Provider. Select OK.
