Resolve Medication Contraindications or Drug Interactions
If a medication item that you selected for import has contraindications or interactions, the Drug Interaction window appears.
- Either confirm the contraindication/drug interaction message or choose to send an alert containing drug interaction information to another provider in NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
   Note:
- The application does not perform a drug interaction check for allergies, problems, immunizations or diagnosis codes. You can manually check for interactions in the pertinent NextGen® Enterprise EHR module after all reconciliation tasks are completed.
 - To support the sending of alerts to providers, an NextGen® Enterprise EHR Workflow IREM Import agent must have previously been created and configured. For assistance with setting up this agent, contact NextGen Healthcare Support.

 - Do one of the following:

- To confirm the contraindication/drug interaction, select Acknowledge.
 - To send an alert to another provider in NextGen® Enterprise EHR,

- Select Alert Providers.
       A list of providers displays.
 - Select a provider and select Send Alert.
The alert is sent as a task to the selected provider's workflow module in NextGen® Enterprise EHR.

 - Select Alert Providers.

The application processes the selected changes and displays a message that the selected changes were saved successfully. - To acknowledge the message, select OK.
 - Review the changes in the appropriate NextGen® Enterprise EHR clinical module and make any changes as needed.
All tasks are reconciled to the patient’s chart even if interaction messages are sent to a provider.
