PAQ Icons

The following icons appear in the Provider Approval Queue tab. Icon Description Indicates a NextGen® Enterprise Document item. Indicates a NextGen® Enterprise Image item. Indicates a Note item. Indicates a NextGen Document Management item. Indicates an Orders item. Indicates a high-priority clinical task. For example, if you select a test order in the Orders module and add result information to it when you save the order, it is marked high priority in the Workflow module. You can select the task to notify the provider (or other appropriate clinical staff) that the results for the test have been received. Indicates a Reports item. Indicates an HIE Document item. Indicates an item not ready for provider sign off. PAQ Item Icons in the Encounters and Categories The PAQ items display the status indicator icons in the Encounters and Categories tabs. PAQ Tabs

The PAQ contains the following tabs. Pending Lists the items for which approval by the selected provider is pending. Rejected List the items rejected by the selected provider. History Lists the items accepted, rejected, and reassigned by the selected provider. You can select an item on any tab to view the details of the item. If you have the view items across practices preference set up, you can use the Practice list to view the items from a particular practice. You can also select the type of items to view in the Items list. Note: You can select or clear all the item selections using the Select All check box on the PAQ tabs. The selection of items filter on the Pending or Rejected tab is retained for the other tab but you must make a separate selection of items for the History tab. If at least one item is not selected in the Items list, the Select All check box gets cleared. The last selected items filter is retained on all the PAQ tabs. Mark PAQ items as Read or Unread in the Pending

Provider Approval Queue

To use the PAQ, you must enable it first and set up the provider assignment and relationship, required signoff items, and operations rights in the System Administrator application. As a provider or delegate, you can access the PAQ from the Workflow module. Note: A patient Inclusion or Exclusion List may restrict your access to PAQ items. If you are a workflow delegate for another user or provider, you may not be able to access the same PAQ items as that person. If you do not have access to a patient, the Restricted message appears under the Patient and Description columns. Manage PAQ Actions

Open NextGen® Mobile. The Hub view opens. Select PAQ, and then select a item from the list. The PAQ item opens. PAQ item To open the patient chart, select Chart. The Patient Chart view opens. To sign off a PAQ item, select Sign off. The current item is removed from the PAQ list and the next item opens. To sign off a PAQ item with an action, select Sign w/ action, and then select the necessary action. To reject a PAQ item, select Reject, enter your comment, and then select Reject. The current item is removed from the PAQ list and the next item opens. To reassign a PAQ item, select Reassign, and then select a contact from the Reassign window. The system reassigns the item to the selected contact and the item appears on the contact's PAQ list. The reassigned item is cleared from the window and the next item opens. To add notes to the PAQ item, select Comment, enter the note, and then select Add Note. If notes are already added to the PAQ item, you can review them, and then select Add Note

Overview of the Provider Approval Queue

You can use the Provider Approval Queue (PAQ) in NextGen® Mobile to review and resolve PAQ items received from NextGen® Enterprise EHR. You can view PAQ items by selecting PAQ on the Hub view or from the job list. You can sort the list to switch between newest or oldest items. You can use the PAQ filters to view the required items. Note: The PAQ window is available only if the PAQ is configured for the clinic’s NextGen® Enterprise EHR. NextGen® Mobile supports the following PAQ items: Lab orders NextGen® Enterprise EHR documents Images NextGen® Document Management scanned items SAP® Crystal Reports® You can view a PAQ item, and do the following: Sign off on the item Open the patient chart from the item Reject or reassign the item Add a note to the item Create tasks for yourself or other users from the item Note: You cannot create tasks for reports created with SAP® Crystal Reports®software.
