Document Queue Errors Log

The EMR Docproc Errors log displays all errors that occurred during offline document generation. You may need to save and then clear the EMR Docproc Errors log periodically. To open the EMR Docproc Errors log, on the Pending pane taskbar in the EMR Document Queue window, you can select Log. The EMR Docproc Errors log appears in Microsoft® Notepad, showing all errors since the log was last cleared. The level of detail shown is based on the Error Logging setting in the Options window. Document Queue Requirements

To use Document Queue, you must have enabled the TX Text Control by run the TX Text document conversion. Note: NextGen Healthcare does not recommend offline document generation through VMware®. Document Queue uses basically the same software as real-time document generation and has similar requirements to NextGen® Enterprise EHR. CPU, memory, operating system: Same requirements as NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Database connectivity: Basically the same requirements as NextGen® Enterprise EHR with the following exception: If the database connection is lost and then restored, Document Queue should begin processing documents again once the connection is restored. This differs from NextGen® Enterprise EHR, which must be shut down and restarted if the connection is lost. Document Queue must run on the windows desktop as a user, the same as NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Process Patient Documents Offline

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, select each document you want to generate offline. Access the Document Queue utility. Document Queue is usually running and begins processing the documents sent for offline generation. If you need to turn the utility on, refer Run Document Queue. You can change Document Queue processing options and the display of completed documents. Review the list of queued and generating documents in the Pending pane. Cancel document generation, if required. Review any processing errors in the EMR Docproc Errors log. View processing results in the Queue Manager window. Note: Archive copies of documents generated offline are made with each revision. Document Queue Process Options

You can view and change offline document processing settings from the Options window. Change the default setting only if you are advised to do so by NextGen Healthcare Client Support. On the Pending pane taskbar in the EMR Document Queue window, select Opt. The Options window opens. Set up the options you want. Select OK to save the settings. In the Refresh and timing section, enter the number of seconds, or select the up or down arrow to enter the number of seconds for: Pending Refresh. This option describes the frequency with which pending documents are updated in the Pending window (default is 10 seconds). The document queue is stored in the database. Generate Lag. This option describes the time (delay) between the generation of successive documents (default is 2 seconds). This setting is designed to reduce the load of the database server and the machine that the application is running on). Document Queue Window Components

The EMR Document Queue window includes four panes. The first pane contains these controls: Start. Start Document Queue. Stop. Stop Document Queue. Hide. Hide or show the third and fourth panes. After you select Hide, it changes to Show. The second pane displays: Status of Initial Delay, Running, Stopped, Connected, or No Database Connection. Number of documents that were generated successfully or that failed Refresh / Gen progress bar that indicates the time until the queue is refreshed. The refresh rate is based on the Pending/Refresh setting in the Options window. The third pane displays: Source database Machine. The name and IP address of the workstation that runs Document Queue. Gen Time. The time that the current document has been generating. Avg. The average time it has taken to generate documents since the utility has been running. Multiple Instances of EMR DocProc.exe

You should not run multiple instances of EMR DocProc.exe on the same machine. Running multiple instances on the same machine will not improve document throughput; on the contrary, doing so can cause document generation issues. If a single instance of the Document Queue is not sufficient to handle a practice typical offline document volume, it is acceptable to launch additional instances on separate workstations, as long as each workstation only has a single instance running.
