Launch Reconciliation from NextGen® Enterprise EHR

Before you begin To perform a clinical reconciliation from NextGen® Enterprise EHR, you must first import a patient's Continuity of Care Document (CCD) or Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (C-CDA), or have completed a patient medication history request. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select a patient. To reconcile all clinical data for a patient (referred to as All mode), select Clinical Reconciliation from the View menu. Note: You can also access the Clinical Reconciliation module in All mode from the Medication Review pop up template, a customized Medical Records or Demographics template or pop up. Reconcile Clinical Data

The Import tab enables you to review clinical data stored in a patient's chart and reconcile the data with contents of an imported document or of a patient medication history file. Note: The following procedure shows the basic steps for performing reconciliation. Detailed procedures appear later in this section. Open the Clinical Reconciliation module from NextGen® Enterprise EHR, the Data Share module, or the Medical Summary Utility and then select a document. Select the Import tab. For an overview of the screen layout, refer to Layout of the Import Tab. Under the Import tab, there is a second set of clinical data tabs. The reconcile a particular type of clinical data, select the corresponding tab, such as Medications, Meds Administered, and so on. If you opened Clinical Reconciliation from a specific module, such as Medications or Problems, then Clinical Reconciliation displays only the tab corresponding to that module. Select Documents to View

The Documents panel contains a list of categories for documents that were imported from an external system, (such as an Health Information Exchange (HIE)), and completed request for patient medication history files from an ePrescribing vendor (such as SureScripts®). The number and names of categories are set up during NextGen® Clinical Interface Bundle and/or ePrescribing implementation and may vary. Launch the Clinical Reconciliation module from NextGen® Enterprise EHR, the Data Share module, or the Medical Summary Utility. In the Documents pane, select HIE Documents (Sent) or HIE Documents, then select one of the listed documents. Process Items in the EHR Section

The EHR section displays clinical items from the patient's chart based on the Import tab selected (Medications, Medication Allergies, and so on). For each item listed you can choose to perform an action. Select the type of clinical data you want to reconcile. Process items in the Import section. Select the item you want to reconcile. Items to Reconcile Select an item in the Action column. Selecting an Action Select one of the following actions action (if any) to perform: Keep - No action is taken. Stop - Stop a medication. Delete - Delete the item from the patient's chart. Resolve - Resolve a medication allergy or problem. By default, all clinical items in the EHR section have a default action of Keep. Note: You cannot delete a clinical item in a locked encounter or added by another practice in the enterprise (namely, enterprise chart). Match/Unmatch clinical items as needed. Process Items in the Import Section

The Import section displays the clinical data available for import based on the Import tab selected (Medications, Medication Allergies, and so on). For each item listed you can choose to perform an action. All items in the Import section have a default action of Add if they do not exist or match to an item in the patient’s chart. If the Clinical Reconciliation module determines that an item in both the EHR and Import sections match, it sets the Import action to Ignore automatically. Select the type of clinical data you want to reconcile. Select the item you want to reconcile. Items to Reconcile To view additional clinical information, slide the scroll bar at the bottom of the Import section right. Select a column header to sort data in ascending/descending order. Launch Reconciliation from the Medical Summary Utility

To perform a clinical reconciliation from the Medical Summary Utility, you must first import a Continuity of Care Document (CCD) or Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (C-CDA) document or have completed a patient medication history request. For details about the Medical Summary Utility, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Medical Summary Utility Guide forNextGen®Enterprise EHR. Note: The Data Share module is now the preferred tool for initiating clinical data imports and exports. The Medical Summary Utility is subject to deimplementation in a future release. Select a patient if one is not selected. From the Data menu, select Reconciliation Module. If you are not using the Single Sign On feature, the Location window appears.
