Export CCDs and C-CDAs

The Data Share module gives you control over each file exports, including the destination, document types, clinical information, and attachments.

Areas to Fill In On Export Tab

  1. Do one of the following:
    • To export most Continuity of Care Document (CCD) and Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (C-CDA) documents, select the Export tab.
    • To export a public health case report, select Send Public Health Case Report in the toolbar.
    • To update a document, select Create Addendum or Create Replacement while viewing a previously exported item on the Home pane.
    The Export tab opens. Depending on how you opened it, specific options may be preselected.
  2. Enter the destination and header information.
  3. Enter additional export information.
  4. Select clinical information.
  5. Select attachments.
  6. Preview and export the document.
  • Enter Destination and Header Information for Exports When you use the Data Share module to export a document, you must choose the destination. You can also specify a title and a referral reason.
  • Enter Additional Export Information When you use the Data Share module to export documents, you can specify the document type, confidentiality level, and practice specialty and indicate whether the document is an addendum or a replacement to an existing document.
  • Select Clinical Information to Export When you export documents with the Data Share module, you can select clinical information at the level of the patient, encounter, individual sections, or individual entries within sections.
  • Select Attachments for Export In the Data Share module, you can select which attachments to include when exporting a document.
  • Preview and Export Documents After you have finished selecting options, clinical data, and attachments for a document export in Data Share module, you can preview the document contents and specify a hash code or an encryption password.
  • Sending Public Health Case Reports You can use the Data Share module to manually initiate electronic initial case reports (eICRs). These reports are transmitted through the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) Informatics Messaging Services (AIMS) platform to public health agencies.
