The bulk search enables you to search for pharmacies by ZIP code and download all search results.
In File Maintenance, from the Main menu, select File > Download Pharmacies.
The Download Pharmacies to NextGen window opens.
Select the Bulk Pharmacy Search tab.
To find and download all extended ZIP+4 codes, enter the five-digit ZIP code for the pharmacies.
For example, 19044 displays results containing 19044-1111, 19044-1112, and so on.
Enter the number of miles (radius) from the entered ZIP code.
Select Search.
The matching pharmacy names appear in the Results section.
The results are grouped and listed by how the pharmacies are known to the system. The available groups are:
New to the System. Pharmacies new to the system that do not match a record in the Pharmacies master file.
Can be Mapped. Pharmacies new to the system that can be automatically matched to manually-entered pharmacies in the Pharmacies master file.
Expired Pharmacies. Pharmacies in the system that are marked as expired by Surescripts. Expired pharmacies cannot be used for ePrescribing because all cross-referenced links are broken.
Already Mapped in the System. Downloaded pharmacies marked for use for ePrescribing.
Map Manually. Indicates the following:
Multiple downloaded pharmacies have the same fax number matching to an existing unmatched pharmacy in the Pharmacies master file.
There is a single downloaded pharmacy that matches two or more existing unmatched pharmacies in the Pharmacies master file.
Note: Tooltips display detailed information explaining the issue when you hover the cursor over a pharmacy name.
Hidden. Existing pharmacies in the Pharmacies master file set to be hidden.
To change the order of the pharmacy names, select a column heading.
Select Add.
The ZIP code is added to the download list.
Add additional ZIP code and distance combinations.
To remove a ZIP code from the download list, select the ZIP code and select Remove.
Select Apply or OK.
A message displays the number of pharmacies that were added.
Note:
Pharmacies listed under Can Be Mapped are automatically mapped if the downloaded pharmacy fax number matches an unmatched pharmacy in the Pharmacies master file.
Pharmacies listed under Already Mapped in the System are downloaded again if there have been updates through Surescripts.
For expired pharmacies, all cross-referenced links are broken and the pharmacies can no longer be used for ePrescribing.
Pharmacies listed under Already Mapped in the System and Expired are automatically updated.
Pharmacies listed under Map Manually that have not been previously mapped are not updated.
Note: To manually map a pharmacy listed under Map Manually, you must map it in the Pharmacies master file.
