On the AutoReleaseForm window, you can create an order instance for your practice to release orders automatically based on the scheduled time and due date parameters. However, you must restart the Windows Service after the addition or change of instances.
- Select Start
, and enter Command Prompt.
- Right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as administrator.
The Administrator: Command Prompt window opens.
- Enter the appropriate directory to change to the NextGen root folder.
Note: Ensure that your changed directory has the NextGen root folder.
- In Command Prompt, enter NextGen.EMR.Lab.AutoRelease.exe "1".
Note: The parameter 1 is passing for invoking the Auto Release Utility user interface.
- Select Enter.
The
NextGen security logon window opens.
- Enter your user credentials, select your enterprise and practice, and then select Logon.
The AutoReleaseForm window opens.
- On the AutoReleaseForm window, select the Action Details (Add a new instance)
button.
The
Details window opens.
- In the Instance Name field, enter your practice name.
- From the Process Time list, select the required time to release the order.
Note: The system releases orders based on the due date selected by the time of order creation in the Orders module, and the number of days specified in File Maintenance
Auto Release Orders Due In practice preference. For example, if you set up three days in the
Auto Release Orders Due In field, the system releases the order three days before the scheduled due date.

- From the Practices section, select necessary practices.
Note: Ensure that you have turn on the Is Enabled check box to execute the order instance. By default, the Is Enabled check box is available. However, if you do not want to execute the instance, you can turn off the check box.
- Select Add.
The
AutoReleaseForm window displays the added instance with the process time in the
Instance list.
- To restart the Windows Service, select Stop, and then select Start on the AutoReleaseForm window.
The added instance is activated.
Note: After creating the order instance, if you change the number of days, the orders should be automatically released based on the File Maintenance Auto Release Orders Due in preference.
