Process Items in the Import Section

The Import section displays the clinical data available for import based on the Import tab selected (Medications, Medication Allergies, and so on). For each item listed you can choose to perform an action. All items in the Import section have a default action of Add if they do not exist or match to an item in the patient’s chart. If the Clinical Reconciliation module determines that an item in both the EHR and Import sections match, it sets the Import action to Ignore automatically. Select the type of clinical data you want to reconcile. Select the item you want to reconcile. Items to Reconcile To view additional clinical information, slide the scroll bar at the bottom of the Import section right. Select a column header to sort data in ascending/descending order. The EHR section displays clinical items from the patient's chart based on the Import tab selected (Medications, Medication Allergies, and so on). For each item listed you can choose to perform an action. Select the type of clinical data you want to reconcile. Process items in the Import section. Select the item you want to reconcile. Items to Reconcile Select an item in the Action column. Selecting an Action Select one of the following actions action (if any) to perform: Keep - No action is taken. Stop - Stop a medication. Delete - Delete the item from the patient's chart. Resolve - Resolve a medication allergy or problem. By default, all clinical items in the EHR section have a default action of Keep. Note: You cannot delete a clinical item in a locked encounter or added by another practice in the enterprise (namely, enterprise chart). Match/Unmatch clinical items as needed. Reconcile Clinical Data

The Import tab enables you to review clinical data stored in a patient's chart and reconcile the data with contents of an imported document or of a patient medication history file. Note: The following procedure shows the basic steps for performing reconciliation. Detailed procedures appear later in this section. Open the Clinical Reconciliation module from NextGen® Enterprise EHR, the Data Share module, or the Medical Summary Utility and then select a document. Select the Import tab. For an overview of the screen layout, refer to Layout of the Import Tab. Under the Import tab, there is a second set of clinical data tabs. The reconcile a particular type of clinical data, select the corresponding tab, such as Medications, Meds Administered, and so on. If you opened Clinical Reconciliation from a specific module, such as Medications or Problems, then Clinical Reconciliation displays only the tab corresponding to that module. Initiate Confirmation of Changes

Process items in the Import section Process items in the EHR section. Match or unmatch clinical items as needed. To accept and apply the matches that you have made, select Confirm. Confirm Button If no problems occur, then the Clinical Reconciliation module processes the selected changes and displays a message stating that the selected changes were saved successfully. Alternately, a warning may appear, stating that the implantable devices to be imported contain linked procedures, and that you should complete the Procedures reconciliation prior to adding or replacing the implantable devices. Select one of the following: Select OK to import the implantable device is imported. The connection to the linked procedure is lost. Select Cancel to return to the Clinical Reconciliation module, where you can go to the Procedures tab and perform reconciliation for the linked procedure. Add User Notes

If needed, you can add comments for Import items in the User Notes column. When you confirm any changes, the Clinical Reconciliation module stores user notes in Reconciliation History. Select an item in the Import section. Select in the row under the User Notes column to display a data entry window. Data Entry Window for User Notes Enter you comment in the data entry window. User Notes Icon After confirming your changes, you can view the contents by selecting the Reconciliation History tab and expanding the row that corresponds to the date the comments were entered. User Notes in Reconciliation History Note: When there is a match and the selected import item is set to Ignore, you can add user notes to the Reconciliation History tab, but you cannot add the user notes to any of the NextGen® Enterprise EHR modules. View Reconciliation History

The Reconciliation History tab displays the history of actions performed when you select the Confirm button in either of the following places: On the Import tab of the Clinical Reconciliation module. Within the Import tab, the screen is subdivided into an EHR pane listing items that are already present in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and an Import pane listing items that are available for import from an external system. The Reconciliation History tab reports all confirmed actions on items in the Import pane, except the None action (which is not logged).
