Keeping Your Immunizations Registries Up-to-Date

When an Immunizations order is created and saved, the system sends this order information to the patient’s Immunization record in the selected registry. If you update the administered Immunizations order, such as deleting an Immunizations order or adding a new immunization to an order, the system updates these changes in the appropriate registry. This task ensures that your registry stays up-to-date and meets Meaningful Use requirements. The system updates or changes an Immunizations order that has already been sent to the registry when you perform any of the following actions: Add, cancel, or delete an Immunizations order. Add, cancel, or delete a vaccine in an Immunizations order. Update an Immunizations order’s vaccine or clinical information. Mark an Immunizations order as Entered in Error. Accessing and Reconciling a Patient's Immunizations Data

To help your practice maintain accurate health information, keep immunization schedules current, perform catch up when necessary, and reconcile patients’ imported Immunizations data from registry with their current Immunizations data from the patient chart. By selecting Reconcile on the Immunizations tab, you can open the Clinical Reconciliation module from the Orders module. On the Clinical Reconciliation window, the imported Immunization data from registry and current Immunization data from patient chart display. You can then match registry data to existing NextGen® Enterprise EHR data. Once the match process is complete, you can view the reconciled immunization data on the Orders Summary tab and on the Immunizations Chart/Recommendation view. Edit or Update Historical Immunizations

You can edit a patient's Historical Immunizations data. Note: To edit vaccine information for locked encounters, you must have the permission set up in System Administrator > Operations > Orders and then selecting the Allow updating Imm Order on Locked Encounter option. On the Immunizations tab toolbar, select Historical. Select the Vaccine Edit tab. All of the patient's past Immunizations display. Note: Columns displayed in gray cannot be changed. To edit information for a past Immunization, select the appropriate column. For example, to change the Immunizations Date, select the appropriate row and select a new date from the calendar or enter the date manually. If you entered data for an Immunizations erroneously, select Entered in Error. To complete the Historical Immunizations entry and save all changes, select Save & Close.
