Update Documents in Folders

You can select commands from a right-click menu in the Document List section of the Organize document folders window to:
  • Unlock a document.
  • Refresh one or more documents.
  • Rename a document.
  • Link one or more documents to a folder.
  • Remove one or more document links to a folder.
  • Delete one or more documents from the database.
  1. To quickly find a document in the Document List section, select the list of documents, and start typing the document name.
    The first document that begins with those characters is highlighted. If necessary, scroll down to find the document you want.
  2. To unlock a document, do one of the following:
    • In the Document List section, right-click the document, and select Unlock.

    • In the Selected Document section, select the lock icon.
  3. To refresh one or more documents, in the Document List section, select one or more documents.
    1. Select <Shift> to select multiple adjacent documents, or select <Ctrl> to select multiple, non-adjacent documents.
    2. Right-click the one or more selected documents, and select Refresh.
  4. To rename a document in the Document List section, right-click the document, and select Rename.
    The name box is opened for editing.
    • Enter a new name for the folder.
    • Select outside the name box or select <Enter> to save the name.
  5. To link one or more documents to a folder, in the Document List section, select one or more documents.
    1. Select <Shift> to select multiple adjacent documents, or select <Ctrl> to select multiple, non-adjacent documents.
    2. Drag one or more selected documents into a folder to create new links.
  6. To remove one or more document links to a folder, in the Document List section, select one or more documents.
    1. Select <Shift> to select multiple adjacent documents, or select <Ctrl> to select multiple, non-adjacent documents.
    2. Right-click the one or more selected documents, and select Remove link, or select <Delete>.
      The Remove link or delete document window opens, with the remove option selected. A message alerts you that the document will remain in the database and be available in the All Documents folder.
    3. Select OK to remove the link, or select Cancel to retain it.
