Create a Favorite Category for a Vaccine

Access the Immunizations Practice Preferences. In the Vaccine Favorites section, select the Open Menu button and select New. The Add Vaccine Favorite Category window opens. Create a name for the category, for example, Travel. Select OK. From the Favorite Category list, select the new category and select the Open Record button. Add Favorite Adult or Pediatric Categories for a Vaccine

Access the Immunizations Practice Preferences. In the Vaccine Favorites section, select Adult or Pediatrics from the Favorites Category list. Select the Open Record button. Adding or Updating Vaccine Favorites

You can add favorites or create categories for the Immunizations that your practice or physician uses most frequently. Adult and Pediatric are default categories. However, you can create categories for your favorites lists. Note: : You can select multiple vaccines favorites with the same CVX and CPT for the same vaccine category and practice. However, you cannot add more than one vaccine with the same CVX, CPT, and vaccine name. Update a Vaccine Custom Name

In File Maintenance, select System > EHR > Vaccine Custom Name. The Vaccine Custom Name List window opens. To update a Vaccine Custom Name, select the Open Menu button, and then select Update or double-click the vaccine in the Vaccine Custom Name List window. The Vaccine Custom Name List window opens. Highlight the original record (that is, the CVX and Custom Name). Update the Vaccine Custom Name, for example: Kinrix DTap-IPV. If your practice wants to update the Vaccine Custom Name as a favorite, select the Update Vaccine Favorites check box. Note: The system updates the Vaccine Custom Name for all practices in the enterprise, not just the current practice you are logged on. To save the Vaccine Custom Name, select OK. When the user creates or updates an Immunization order, on the Select Vaccines tab, the system displays the Vaccine Custom Name when a user searches for a vaccine. Select Vaccines Using the Favorite Categories

From the Select Vaccines section, select the appropriate Favorites category (that is, Pediatrics, Adult, or a user-defined category). The vaccines for each category appear. Select the appropriate vaccine from the list. The vaccine appears in the Assign Diagnosis to Selected Vaccines section. Note: If an allergy review is required, view and select an allergy, if applicable. The Allergy Review window opens automatically, unless it has been disabled in your practice's setting in File Maintenance (Practice Preference > Orders module). If the patient's allergies have been selected previously or exist in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Allergies module, the specific allergy (or allergies) display across the the top of the Create New/Update Immunizations Orders window (Only common allergies associated with vaccines are displayed). Add a New Vaccine Custom Name

In File Maintenance, select EHR > Vaccine Custom Name. The Vaccine Custom Name List window displays. To add a new Vaccine Custom Name, select the Open Menu button, and then select New. The Add Vaccine Custom Name window displays. Select the vaccine from the CPT Description list. For example, for the CPT description for 90696. Enter the Vaccine Custom Name, for example: Kinrix. Note: The system applies the custom name to the appropriate vaccine for all of the practices in your enterprise, not just the current practice you are logged on. If your practice wants to update the Vaccine Custom Name as a favorite, select the Update Vaccine Favorites check box. To save the Vaccine Custom Name, select OK. Note: If any practice within your enterprise has duplicate vaccines in a Favorite Category (that is, vaccines with the same CPT/CVX codes but different descriptions), an Assign Custom Name to Vaccine Favorite window displays.
