Add Favorite Adult or Pediatric Categories for a Vaccine
Access the Immunizations Practice Preferences.
In the
Vaccine Favorites
section, select
Adult
or
Pediatrics
from the Favorites Category list.
Select the
Open Record
button.
The
Updating Favorite Category: (Adult or Pediatrics)
window opens.
Select the appropriate vaccines to add.
Select
OK

Create a Favorite Category for a Vaccine
Access the Immunizations Practice Preferences. In the Vaccine Favorites section, select the Open Menu button and select New. The Add Vaccine Favorite Category window opens. Create a name for the category, for example, Travel. Select OK. From the Favorite Category list, select the new category and select the Open Record button. Update a Favorite User-defined Category Name for a Vaccine
When setting up Vaccine Favorites, you selected vaccines that your practice most frequently uses and that you may have assigned to user-defined categories. In the future, you may need to change the names of these vaccine favorite categories. Note: For the Adult or Pediatric Vaccine Favorites, you can only update the favorite items, you cannot update the Category Name. Access the Immunizations Practice Preferences. In the Vaccine Favorites section, select the user-defined Category from the Category list. Select the Open Menu button and select Open. The Rename Vaccine Favorite Category window opens. Adding or Updating Vaccine Favorites
You can add favorites or create categories for the Immunizations that your practice or physician uses most frequently. Adult and Pediatric are default categories. However, you can create categories for your favorites lists. Note: : You can select multiple vaccines favorites with the same CVX and CPT for the same vaccine category and practice. However, you cannot add more than one vaccine with the same CVX, CPT, and vaccine name. Select Vaccines Using the Favorite Categories
From the Select Vaccines section, select the appropriate Favorites category (that is, Pediatrics, Adult, or a user-defined category). The vaccines for each category appear. Select the appropriate vaccine from the list. The vaccine appears in the Assign Diagnosis to Selected Vaccines section. Note: If an allergy review is required, view and select an allergy, if applicable. The Allergy Review window opens automatically, unless it has been disabled in your practice's setting in File Maintenance (Practice Preference > Orders module). If the patient's allergies have been selected previously or exist in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Allergies module, the specific allergy (or allergies) display across the the top of the Create New/Update Immunizations Orders window (Only common allergies associated with vaccines are displayed). Disable the Display of Pediatric Vaccine Recommendations for Adults
Access the Immunizations Practice Preferences. In the top section of the Immunizations tab, select the Ignore Pediatric Recommendation for Adults check box. Select OK at the bottom of the Imm tab. Parent topic: Hiding Pediatric Vaccines Recommendations for Adult Patients

Update the Vaccine Schedule
Access the Immunizations Practice Preferences. In the Vaccine Schedule section, select a vaccine group record, select the Open Menu button, and then select Open. The Update Vaccine Schedule window opens. Update the Start Age and End Age or At Birth check box. Select the Sex. If required, add a note. Select OK. To save the Vaccine Schedule changes for all practices, select the Apply to All Practices check box. Note: You can only select Apply to All Practices, if you have set up the Apply Order Preferences across Practices rights in System Administrator.
