Test Specimen Details

Several tests can be associated with one test item on a specific date. You can add specimen details to one test in a test item group for a single date and no specimen details to the others and save the test item. In this example, two tests were entered the same day. Only one had specimen information associated with it. You can reopen this test item and select the Apply this specimen to all tests check box to overwrite the specimen information for the following tests. Parent topic: Test Details Tab

Test Details Tab

In the Test Details tab for your test orders, you can enter the test name, collection details and AOE questions. If you select a test in the Test Name list and then select the Select to display Specimen handling details link, the Specimen Handling Information window opens, showing details on the collection of the test specimen. The detail for the test specimen and AOE questions is entered using File Maintenance when you create the Orders test code. You select Order Tests in Master Files. There is a tab on each record for Specimen Handling where you can input the information for this test. Under the Options tab there is also a section for entering Ask at Order Entry Questions information. In the center of the Test Details tab, in the Collection Date/Time field, you can assign a collection time for the order. Open the Order and Result Details in the Orders Summary Tab

From the Results tab, you can select a test order result and automatically open that order and the result details on the Orders Summary tab. On the Results tab, select the result value in a Collection Date & Time column, and then select Go to Order on the Results tab Top toolbar. The Orders Summary tab opens. Collection Date or Service Type for Lab or Radiology Orders

The Collection Date column on the Orders Summary tab contains the date and time for the collection of the specimens associated with an order or the Service Date for a radiology test shown in this display. For lab test orders, the time in this Collection Date column is the date and time captured in the Test Details tab for the test. If you have multiple tests on the same order, the time in the Collection Date column reflects the time of the earliest test in the group. For example, three test orders are associated with the same encounter on the same day. If a user opens the order, and then selects the Test Details tab, three have a Collection Date (date and time) of 12/07/2011 11:27 AM. The next morning, another test is added to the same order, it has a collection time of 09:09 AM on 12/08/2011. If you look in the display above that shows the Orders Summary tab, you see that the date and time in the Collection Date column is 12/07/2011 11:27 AM, not 12/08/2011 09:09 AM. That is the earli

Record Visit Time Using Start and End Timestamps

At the start of the visit, select Start Time button to enter the current time in the field. Note: You can edit the Start Time anytime during the visit. Custom Result Filters

You can filter test results by test description, result description, result flags, and/or collection date range. You can use filter option in any combination. Open a patient document in the TX Text viewer. Right-click in the patient document, and select Insert Lab Results from the Viewer Document menu. The Select lab results window opens. From the Date Range list, select Custom or select Custom. The Set Results Filter window opens. Enter the filter criteria that you want to apply. To filter results on a specific test, in the Enter test description to filter section, enter the name or partial name of a test. Select Add Test or select the ENTER key. The test description appears in the filter window. To change the description, select and enter over it, and then select Update Test. To delete the description, select it, and then select Delete Test. Select the Match exact names only check box, if applicable. To filter results on a specific test result, in the Enter test description to filter
