Set up System Password Trigger

The System Password action automatically returns the stored values of user name and password from an external system. Follow the applicable steps in General Trigger Setup. Select the System Password action. The System Password window opens. From the System list, select the variable or template field that populates the external system at run time. From the User list, select the variable or template field that populates the user name at run time. From the Password list, select the variable or template field that populates the password at run time. To save the information and close the window, select OK. If necessary, set up a specific condition for the System Password action to be triggered. Select OK and save your template. Parent topic: Setting up Specific Trigger

Set Up Credentials for an External System

The System Password function enables you to set up a user name and password to access an external system (such as a Hillrom™ Welch Allyn® Diagnostic Cardiology Suite™ or CardioPerfect® Workstation or Hillrom™ HeartCentrix® software) or enable the System Password trigger. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the Main menu, select Admin > System Password. The System Password window appears. From the System list, select the external system. Enter your user name and password required to access the selected external system. Select Save to apply your changes. Select Close to exit the System Password window. Add USPS Usernames in System Administrator

After a user receives the United States Postal Service (USPS) Web Tools Registration System Notice email, you can add the user's USPS username in System Administrator. Open System Administrator, and then select the user to configure. Select the External tab. In the External User Mapping section, right-click and then select New. The Add External Interface window opens. In External ID, enter the user's USPS username. The USPS username is a string of numbers and letters. 111PRACA111 In External System, select USPS. Set up Lookup External ID Trigger

The Lookup External ID action enables you to display the patient's ID from an external system in a predefined field. Follow the applicable steps in General Trigger Setup. Select the Lookup External ID action. The Lookup External System Patient ID window opens. Select the External System and External Patient from the list. To save the information and close the window, select OK. If necessary, set up a specific condition for the Lookup External ID action to be triggered. Select OK and save your template.
