Sending Lab Results to NextGen Enterprise Patient Portal

Sending lab results to the NextGen® PxP Portal from the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Orders module gives patients timelier access to their lab results and enables you to process lab results more efficiently. To send lab results to NextGen® PxP Portal, your practice must be enrolled in NextGen Enterprise Patient Portal, and only patients with a completed enrollment status can receive results. If your practice is not set up to use NextGen® PxP Portal, the Patient Portal button is hidden in the Results panel. If your practice is set up to use NextGen Enterprise Patient Portal, and the patient has not yet completed enrollment, the Patient Portal button is unavailable. Note: Lab results marked as Confidential cannot be sent to NextGen® PxP Portal. You can send lab order results from the Orders module with the following statuses: Signed off. Final. Export Laboratory Results

You can export completed and signed-off laboratory results along with comments to NextGen® PxP Portal. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR and select a patient. Open the Orders module. On the Orders Summary tab, select a completed and signed-off laboratory order and expand Results (reported results - formatted). Select Patient Portal. The Patient Portal Document Export window opens, where you can add comments or special instructions to send along with the laboratory results. Select Send. The Sent confirmation window opens. Export Manually Corrected Laboratory Results

You can manually correct results for completed laboratory orders and export the updated results to NextGen® PxP Portal. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR and select a patient. Open the Orders module. On the Orders Summary tab, select a completed laboratory order that has been sent to a performing entity. Expand Results (reported results - formatted). Select the New Results Entry tab. The order details appear. Note: Ensure that the values in Comp. Key and Component match their original values. If necessary, you can correct the value for Result. To update the flag of the selected order, select a flag from the Flag list. From the Result Status list, select Corrected, and then select Save. Select the Formatted Results tab and verify the changes. To validate the order, select Sign-off. To enable Patient Portal, select Refresh, and then select Patient Portal. View the Status of Exported Laboratory Results

After you export any laboratory results, you can view the status of exported results in the Patient Portal Document History window. A patient can view the exported results on the Home page or Inbox in NextGen® PxP Portal. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR and select a patient. Open the Orders module. On the Orders Summary tab, expand Results (reported results - formatted) and select Patient Portal History Details from the Patient Portal list. The Patient Portal Document History window opens and displays the comments associated with the results and indicates if the patient has viewed the laboratory results on the NextGen® PxP Portal Home page. Send Lab Results from the Orders Module

Before you begin If you are sending corrected results, ensure that the result status is set as: Corrected. For more information on result statuses, visit NextGen Healthcare Success Community to download the latest Orders Module User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Physicians can sign off on and send the lab or radiology test results directly from the Orders or PAQ modules to the NextGen® PxP Portal using NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Lab results can be signed-off on and sent without waiting for Personal Health Records (PHR) to be generated and sent. All confidential lab results are excluded when lab results are sent to NextGen® PxP Portal. Lab results can be signed-off on and sent without waiting for Personal Health Records (PHR) to be generated and sent. All confidential lab results are excluded when lab results are sent to the NextGen® PxP Portal. For more information on orders and lab results, visit NextGen Healthcare Success Community to download the latest Orders Module User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR document. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, select the PAQ button. The Workflow window opens. Select the Provider Approval Queue tab. From the Pending list, select the lab order to send to NextGen® PxP Portal. Note: The Enrolled with a check mark icon indicates that the patient has completed enrollment. If the patient is a dependent, the guardian must have completed enrollment.
