Types of Clinical Data Filters

You can use any of the following types of filters: Clinical Context (NextGen Filter): This predefined filter selects all clinical items that are required for Meaningful Use and Advancing Care Information: Active Medications Active Allergies Active Problems Active Implantable Devices Plan of Care Immunizations Note: You cannot modify or delete this type of filter. None: This filter clears the selection so that no clinical items are selected. Quick Filter: You can customize this filter for use only in the current session. User Filters: You can create and name these filters for possible reuse in later sessions. These filters are available only to you, the current user. You can mark one of them as your default filter. Practice Filters: These filters are available to all users who belong to the same practice. Practice filters are available only if they have been enabled. Configure Practice Filters

Before you begin Practice filters must have been previously enabled for the practice. Your user account must have previously been granted permission to update practice filters. You can create a filter that is available to all users in the currently selected practice. On the Export tab, under Clinical Information, set Export Type to Manual Data Selection. In the Clinical Information pane, select the gear icon.The DSM Filter Configuration window opens. Select Create New Filter and Create Practice Filter, enter a name for the filter, and then select Next. DSM Filter Configuration The window presents a list of clinical information categories. New Filter Configuration To open Help for this window, click the icon at the upper right. For each category, such as Encounters, Medications, and Allergies, a blue underlined link appears, stating which items should be selected for that category. Create User Filters

You can create and name a filter that is available only to you and then reuse it in later sessions. On the Export tab, under Clinical Information, set Export Type to Manual Data Selection. Configuring Clinical Data Filters

Clinical information filters enable you to quickly select the types of clinical data to include in an export. By defining a filter for repeated use, you can ensure that exported documents include required categories of information, such as information required for Meaningful Use compliance. Clinical information filters are available only when you set the Export Type option to Manual Data Selection. Manual Data Selection Export Type Clinical information filters do not exclude items from the Clinical Information list. Rather, these filters cause selected categories of items in the Clinical Information list to be preselected for export. Even if a filter has been applied, you are still free to select or clear individual items in the list. Select Clinical Information to Export

You can select clinical data for inclusion in an exported document by using the Clinical Information pane on the Export tab. Clinical Information Pane To export data from a single encounter, select that encounter in the Encounter History tab.In the Clinical Information pane, the Selected Encounter display updates the date and time of the selected encounter. Select one of the following export types: Encounter Level: Include all data in the currently selected encounter. Encounter Level + Clinical Context: Include all data in the currently selected encounter, plus any related items from other encounters that are required for Meaningful Use and Advancing Care Information. Longitudinal: Include all data in all encounters for the patient. Section Level: Select which types of clinical data sections are included, either for the selected encounter or for all the patient's encounters.
