Select Clinical Information to Export

You can select clinical data for inclusion in an exported document by using the Clinical Information pane on the Export tab. Clinical Information Pane To export data from a single encounter, select that encounter in the Encounter History tab.In the Clinical Information pane, the Selected Encounter display updates the date and time of the selected encounter. Select one of the following export types: Encounter Level: Include all data in the currently selected encounter. Encounter Level + Clinical Context: Include all data in the currently selected encounter, plus any related items from other encounters that are required for Meaningful Use and Advancing Care Information. Longitudinal: Include all data in all encounters for the patient. Section Level: Select which types of clinical data sections are included, either for the selected encounter or for all the patient's encounters. Select Attachments for Export

If you have set the export type to Section Level or Manual Data Selection, you can use the Attachments pane to choose which attachments to include. For other export types, attachments are not included. Attachments Pane For image attachments, the icon shown may be a thumbnail of the actual image. However, if the original image is oversized, a generic icon is shown instead. In System Administrator, you can use the View > Universal Preferences > Image Binary Limit (in Bytes) option to specify the maximum size image for which a thumbnail is generated. To choose which attachments to include, select or clear the check box next to the description of each attachment.Warning messages appear if you attempt to select more than the recommended number or the maximum number of attachments. If you have already selected the maximum number of attachments, you are not allowed to select any more until you have deselected another attachment. Export CCDs and C-CDAs

The Data Share module gives you detailed control over each aspect of file exports, including the destination, document types, clinical information, and attachments. Note: The Export tab is able to initiate various types of exports, including simple referrals. However, if you want to initiate a closed loop referral, you must use the Closed Loop Referrals tab. Areas to Fill In On Export Tab Do one of the following: To export most Continuity of Care Document (CCD) and Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (C-CDA) documents, select the Export tab. To export a public health case report, select Send Public Health Case Report in the toolbar. To update a document, select Create Addendum or Create Replacement while viewing a previously exported item on the Home pane. The Export tab opens. When exporting files, the Data Share module can time out and fail if you select too many attachments (documents, images, and patient reports) or attachments that are too large. To prevent such failures, you can set warnings and limits for attachments. In the Data Share pane, select Open the Data Share Settings Slider Open the Data Share Settings Slider. A pane opens and displays configuration options. In the Behavior section, do the following: To limit the number of attachments that can be selected for export, enter the value in Maximum Number of Selected Documents, Images, Patient Reports and ICS Images. The default value is 10. To cause a performance warning message to appear when a certain number of attachments are selected for export, enter the value in Warn After Amount Selected Documents, Images, Patient Report and ICS Images. The default value is 5. Select Apply. Typically, the Data Share module generates customized thumbnails to represent each attachment. For large attachments,

View Attachments

When you are preparing to export a document from the Data Share module or the Medical Summary Utility (MSU), the CDA Viewer provides the ability to view document attachments. This ability to view attachments is available only when the CDA Viewer is opened in this particular way, during an export. Attachments Available Message To view attachments, Near the bottom of the window, select the plus Expand icon to the left of Attachments. The Attachments pane expands. Attachments Pane Select one of the listed attachment names at the left side of the Attachments pane. The attachment opens. Initially it may be too small to read. Opened Attachment Use the toolbar icons along the top of the Attachments pane to adjust the zoom level or to zoom in on a particular region. You can hover over each icon to view a tool tip for the icon. For example, you can select the zoom to width Zoom to Width icon to fit the attachment to the width of the pane, and then use the vertical scrollbar to scroll up and dow
